Cowboys Superstar Micah Parsons Sends 6-Word Message to Jerry Jones, Revealing the Player He Wants Dallas To Pursue This Offseason

Cowboys star defensive end Micah Parsons has made his feelings known and wants Dallas to make a push for All-Pro defender Myles Garrett.

It’s the six words most fan bases, and now players, are saying to their respective general managers and owners right now, “Yo! Go get us Myles Garrett!”

The four-time first-team All-Pro and former Defensive Player of the Year has made his desires known after requesting a trade out of Cleveland.

It’s a no-brainer that many teams would benefit from having this monster of a defensive lineman on their team, but as they always find themselves, the Dallas Cowboys have tossed their name in the ring of potential suitors — at least in the mind of Micah Parsons.

Micah Parsons Explains His Reasoning for Wanting To Add Myles Garrett

During an interview on “Up and Adams,” Parsons named Garrett as the one player he would love to see Jerry Jones land this offseason.

“Honestly, I am a defensive person. I don’t really believe in the offense because I’ve seen some of the biggest offenses shut down in the biggest moments, but if you talk about team consistency, teams that step up, it’s always the defense that shows up. [The defense] controls the narrative of the game just by doing your job.”

In talking about the offense, Parsons had this to say: “On offense, there are too many dependent pieces. Your best wide receiver needs the offensive line play.

“A QB needs good run-game play. Everything is dependent on each other. On defense, you kind of just show up and F things up.”

In Garrett’s eighth NFL season with the Browns, he played in all 17 games while recording 14 sacks, 22 TFLs, and three forced fumbles. Over his eight-year career, Garrett has tallied 102.5 sacks in 117 games.

Numbers May Not Add Up For Cleveland

Financially speaking, it is going to be really hard for the Browns to trade Garrett. His cap hit would go from $19.722 million to over $36 million with a pre-June 1 trade. If they trade him after June 1, they would save just under $5 million ($4,963,225). However, the Browns would then carry over a $20 million dead money number in 2025.

Cleveland also has -$27.5 million in cap space right now. They will clear a lot of that if they can void Deshaun Watson’s deal or get cap credits, but they need that just to be cap-compliant, without adding more than $17 million in dead money by trading their best player.

If the Browns can trade him before the fifth day of the league year, they can save $18.54 million in cap space post-trade. He has an option bonus due then worth that amount. If they trade him before that date, or convince him to move the date of the option bonus back, his cap hit would basically be a saving of around a million this year.

His new team would take on the $18.54 million option bonus and his $1.255 million base salary. His cap number for the new team would be around $4.5 million.
