CeeDee Lamb has made his stance clear—he wants the Dallas Cowboys to add firepower to their offense. After restructuring his contract to free up $20 million in cap space, the 25-year-old star wideout is now turning his attention to the 2025 NFL Draft, where he believes Dallas needs to make a move at wide receiver.
With WR Brandin Cooks hitting free agency and the Cowboys lacking a solid WR2, Lamb wants the franchise to invest in some of the top receiver prospects available.

CeeDee Lamb Urges Cowboys To Invest in Reliable WRs in 2025 NFL Draft
Lamb shared his thoughts on this year’s draft class, specifically calling out Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, Missouri’s Luther Burden III, Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka, and Oregon’s Tez Johnson as standouts. “I like a lot of them, actually,” Lamb said in an interview with RG.
“I’m not really pressed about having whoever. It doesn’t matter, as long as you come here ready to work, I’m excited to teach you, excited to work and just gradually gravitate towards instilling you in this offense. It’s gonna be fun with whoever,” the Dallas WR added.
Lamb didn’t compare any of them to himself but emphasized that each has unique traits that could help the Cowboys. “At the end of the day, you’re gonna be great at something else that maybe I’m not.” Jerry Jones’ team has the No. 12 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, giving them a real shot at landing a top-tier receiver.
The Cowboys’ passing game struggled last season, ranking 21st in scoring. This was largely due to a lack of reliable weapons beyond Lamb. Jalen Tolbert was the team’s second-leading receiver with just 610 yards, while KaVontae Turpin followed with 420 yards. The Cowboys could benefit from adding a dynamic rookie who could immediately elevate the offense.

Dallas’ front office has decisions to make beyond the draft, including Dak Prescott’s massive $89.57 million cap hit and an extension for linebacker Micah Parsons. However, Lamb made it clear that he restructured his deal for one reason—winning. “I want to win. It’s gonna take more than just myself,” he said.

Dallas has been linked to Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp as a possible veteran addition, but whether they go the free agency route or draft a receiver, Lamb is ready to welcome new talent. Now, it’s up to the Cowboys’ front office to make the right move and maximize the talent around their star wideout.
