Cowboys Predicted To Add 6’5″, 26-TD WR in 1st Round of 2025 NFL Draft, Forming Superstar Duo With CeeDee Lamb

The Dallas Cowboys have a knack for splashy moves. The team continues that trend in the latest PFSN mock draft.

The 2024 season wasn’t kind to the Dallas Cowboys, as they finished with a 7-10 record and battled numerous injuries. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Trevon Diggs, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Micah Parsons, among others, battled injuries for the Cowboys in 2024.

The team won the NFC East just one year earlier and will presumably be looking to return to the postseason in 2025. Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are no strangers to splashy moves, and they could look to the 2025 NFL Draft to make a splash and make the team contenders again.

Tetairoa McMillan Goes to Cowboys in Recent Mock Draft

Justin Lewis sent Tetairoa McMillan to Dallas in PFSN’s latest 2025 NFL mock draft. Here’s what he had to say about McMillan to the Cowboys.

“The Cowboys are looking at one more shot to prove that Dak Prescott is the answer for their franchise,” Lewis said. “He’s been good, but he only has one high-level option to distribute the ball to. Pairing Tetairoa McMillan with CeeDee Lamb would take this offense to another level. McMillan’s length is his greatest weapon. He possesses a wingspan matched only by the likes of Mike Evans and Kyle Pitts.”

“He’s smooth and technical as a route runner, and he attacks the football and makes it disappear better than almost anyone. However, his lack of post-catch creativity and overall explosiveness means he lacks two of the most consistent indicators for NFL success.”

In 12 games in 2024, McMillan caught 84 passes for 1,319 yards and eight touchdowns, good for an average of 15.7 yards per reception and 109.9 receiving yards per game.

A combination of McMillan and Lamb would give Dallas two versatile weapons for Prescott to throw to while making it harder for opposing defenses to focus all of their attention on Lamb.

While the team has several options with the No. 12 pick, grabbing one of the most talented wide receivers in this year’s class is an exciting option. The team has a need at the position, with Brandin Cooks slated to be a free agent this offseason and Lamb being the only player to tally north of 650 receiving yards in 2024.

Brian Schottenheimer will take over the head coaching duties after Mike McCarthy’s contract expired at the end of the season and was not renewed by the Cowboys. Schottenheimer was the team’s offensive coordinator from 2023-2024 and will look to improve an offense that finished 2024 ranked No. 24 with a grade of 68.0 (D+) in PFSN’s Offense+ metric.

Under Schottenheimer, Dallas will look to improve in 2025 while hopefully staying healthier. It remains to be seen what the Cowboys will do this offseason, but adding McMillan or another highly regarded offensive weapon would presumably help them improve upon their 7-10 record in 2024.
