Despite resolving the contract dispute with veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Los Angeles Rams are anticipated to move on from wide receiver Cooper Kupp.
Kupp, the former triple-crown-winning wide receiver, will likely draw strong interest from Super Bowl contenders due to his experience when the lights shine brightest.
The Washington Commanders were one of the most heavily rumored landing spots for Kupp, but they opted to add San Francisco 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel via trade.
Still, a handful of organizations with a need for a player like Kupp remain, including the Dallas Cowboys.

Cowboys Predicted to Acquire Cooper Kupp
The Cowboys had a disappointing 2024 campaign, largely because franchise quarterback Dak Prescott appeared in only eight games due to injury. Despite having three different players throwing him the ball, star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb finished the year with 101 receptions for 1,194 yards and six touchdowns.
However, the Cowboys’ second-leading target was Jalen Tolbert, with 610 yards, making obvious the need for a true No. 2 wide receiver. Enter Kupp, whom Bleacher Report’s Timothy Rapp predicts the Cowboys will acquire in a blockbuster trade.
“The Dallas Cowboys could use another solid option at wide receiver behind superstar CeeDee Lamb, with Jalen Tolbert and Jonathan Mingo currently the top options,” Rapp wrote. “Kupp’s ability to work out of the slot and consistently get open in underneath routes or over the middle would offer Dak Prescott a nice security blanket.”
Prescott slotted at No. 30 in PFSN’s QB+ metric for last season, making even more apparent the need for an established veteran like Kupp. Their offense was well below average (No. 23) per PFSN, which can be attributed largely to their inconsistent quarterback play.
If there’s one person not to blame for these disappointing rankings, it’s Lamb.
Kupp hasn’t appeared in 13 or more matchups since his historic 2021 season, making his ability to remain healthy a rather large concern. If Dallas’ front office can look past that, the 31-year-old could add great support for Prescott and Lamb.
Cowboys Reportedly in the Market for a No. 2 Wide Receiver
Not only is Kupp’s fit in Dallas ideal, but adding an additional weapon is reportedly on its mind. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported the Cowboys are in the market for a No. 2 wide receiver, writing.
“The Cowboys will be in the market for a No. 2 receiver behind CeeDee Lamb,” Fowler said. “They have some hope that Jonathan Mingo, their trade-deadline acquisition from Carolina, can evolve into that, but obviously it’s too soon to know, and they will be in the market to add at that position.”
“They could end up being a Cooper Kupp suitor if his price drops far enough. Dallas also will look to add a dynamic player at running back to pair with Rico Dowdle, who finished the season strong for them,” Fowler concluded.
