Disappointing is the best way to describe the Dallas Cowboys season. An offseason where Jerry Jones planned on going “all-in” saw them miss out on every prominent free agent and start the season with no true running backs on the roster.
Then, injuries to Micah Parsons and Dak Prescott during the season derailed the Cowboys further, and they finished with just seven wins on the year. But, according to Yardbarker, some big changes are coming to reshape Dallas’ offense.

Dallas Cowboys Projected To Remake Their Offense
The moment Prescott went down, it wasn’t looking good for a Dallas team that had finished with 12 or more wins the past three seasons. Their offense sputtered, finishing as the 23rd-ranked unit by PFN’s Offense+ metric.
While the passing game was a mess without the 2023 MVP finalist, the lack of a ground game also really hurt the Cowboys. But, according to Yardbarker, the team is about to receive a major boost to their offense.
First, they have Houston Texans’ Stefon Diggs joining the team and brother Trevon Diggs on America’s Team. After injury ruled the former out for essentially the entire season, his value might be at a low, and Dallas could acquire him for cheaper than usual.
PFSN is ranking Diggs as the 44th-ranked free agent this offseason, but he’s among the 10 best wide receivers available. Alongside CeeDee Lamb, he could function as the ideal WR2 and give Prescott another elite receiving option.
Alongside Diggs, the article also predicts that the most valuable franchise in sports could go after running back Najee Harris from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The former Pro Bowler is coming off another strong year, where he crossed the 1,000-yard mark rushing, making it 4 for 4 in his NFL career. Harris posted the second-highest average rush-per-attempt numbers of his career and had six touchdowns as well.
With a contract extension for Micah Parsons coming up, it might be tough for Dallas to manage all its resources. However, if Jones is serious about building a true contender under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, then adding some proven playmakers to the offense is the way to go.
Both Diggs and Harris aren’t setting the world on fire right now. But they’re effective, available, and perhaps most importantly for the Cowboys — cheap. Adding them could be the first step for Dallas to regain its standing as a contender in the suddenly crowded NFC.
