Cowboys Superstar Micah Parsons Sends Strong Message to Dallas’ Front Office Ahead of Critical Offseason

Micah Parsons is fed up with the Dallas Cowboys' front office and urged them to adopt an "aggressive" approach ahead of NFL free agency.

The Dallas Cowboys have had a confusing couple of offseasons. Last year, after claiming that they were going “all in,” team owner and general manager Jerry Jones didn’t make any major moves to improve on last season’s team.

While there’s still plenty of time before the offseason starts, the Cowboys haven’t done much to this point, which is getting to the nerves of their star defender, Micah Parsons.

Micah Parsons Wants Dallas’ Front Office To Get ‘Aggressive’ Ahead of Critical Offseason

Since entering the league, Parsons has established himself as one of the NFL’s premier defensive players. However, despite all the accolades and recognition, he’s willing to leave it behind if Dallas doesn’t do enough to contend for a Super Bowl.

The Cowboys need reinforcements on offense and defense, both of which ranked outside the top 20 last year in PFSN’s Offense+ and Defense+ metrics. As a result, Parsons is urging the front office to do something about it.

“I don’t want to sit back and watch other teams build and us stay the same…I want to see us become aggressive and get some players that will make an impact,” Parsons told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Such is Parsons’ hunger to win a Super Bowl championship that he’s taken it upon himself to make recruiting pitches to other players.

The 25-year-old took to social media on Feb. 12 to recruit Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Myles Garret, who’s already declared he wants a trade. Parsons wants to recruit Garrett to the Cowboys so together they can stop their division rivals and Super Bowl 59 winners, the Philadelphia Eagles.

“@Flash_Garrett let’s stop thanos and friends!,” Parsons quote-tweeted in reaction to the Eagles’ Jalen Hurts wanting to build a dynasty in Philadelphia.

While adding Garrett to the Cowboys can make Dallas have one of the deadliest pass rushes in the NFL, there is a challenge in trading for the Browns’ defensive end.

Aside from Dallas having to come up with the assets to facilitate the trade itself, the Cowboys would have to either absorb Garrett’s astonishing contract or find a way to renegotiate or otherwise extend the contract to make it salary cap-friendly.

According to one NFL general manager who spoke with The Athletic’s Dianna Russini, the price tag to acquire Garrett is a first and second-round pick, or a first-round pick and two third-round selections plus a player.

With Dallas’ offense and defense in shambles, even Garrett alone can’t save them, and parting with that amount of capital is a huge risk to the franchise. It remains to be seen how effective Parsons’ call to action, or warning, for that matter, turns out to be.
