Dallas Cowboys legend Dez Bryant and current star edge rusher Micah Parsons got personal with each other in a Twitter kerfuffle following their rival Washington Commanders’ Divisional Round win.
Dez Bryant And Micah Parsons Argue Each Other’s Impact on Cowboys Culture
Bryant congratulated the Washington Commanders after their Divisional Round win at Ford Field. The retired wide receiver sent a series of tweets highlighting how Dan Quinn had changed the culture in the Commanders’ locker and organization.
“What Dan Quinn doing in Washington..Jerry..everybody needs to go..including Zimmer.. I knew Washington was going to be successful because of Dan Quinn”.

In the midst of this, Bryant vowed to “speak his truth” about the Cowboys and his former team’s culture.
He highlighted how Jerry Jones’s nepotism has eaten away at their ability to be Super Bowl contenders. “From now on, I’ll speak my truth about the Cowboys.., whether it’s good or bad. Jerry has built a great brand, and now it’s time for the team to start winning. It’s time for a real culture shift. I’m fed up with all the nepotism..get someone in there who can win games…”

However, as the Cowboys’ current star and defensive bedrock, Micah Parsons took exception to this position. In his view, Bryant failed to get Jerry Jones to change the culture.
“Stuff like this irrates me Dez because you had tenough talent and was Probaly one greatest in your time! You could have changed the culture brother!! You could have changed the culture!”

Bryant’s initial response to Parsons’ question seemed measured. He defended himself by pointing out that Parsons’ freedom to speak his mind on all things Cowboys was only possible because of his influence on Jerry Jones and the locker room.
I mean, I did.. That’s why many of you players are able to speak freely the way you do…If you really read between the lines, you’ll know I’m always in protection mode for the player. Trust me, I could say a lot more, but I keep it rated G a lot.
It’s no need to be irritated..… https://t.co/4rnCHjBOMB

However, Bryant wasn’t done with the issue. Parsons’ interjection seemingly gnawed at him too much to let the slight go with just a tweet. He then began talking about how the team’s locker room had regressed in its ability to stand up to Jones. He pointed fingers at Parsons, calling him a “yes-man” of sorts.
“I had to double back because you really said I could have changed the culture and emphasized that, as if you don’t know…I was never on the yes-man political ass-kissing shit. I sacrificed myself so a lot of you could do what you do. I’m on some shit that’s way deeper than football. You are really too young to understand. You’ll realize soon you need more people like me who don’t give a fuck for the better of the athletes. The way I talked to Jerry vs the way you talk to Jerry is totally different..Let it sink” he said.
Parsons fired back but seemingly with less conviction. “Lol what does front office have to do with players actions! And players be responsible for their actions?” he posted.
Perhaps the Cowboys duo should get on a podcast and clear the air about their positions on changing the team’s fortunes. Dallas hasn’t been to a Conference championship in 30 years. Something has got to give.
