The Dallas Cowboys have had a confusing couple of offseasons. Last year, after claiming that they were going “all in,” team owner and general manager Jerry Jones didn’t make any major moves to improve on last season’s team.
Instead, a drawn-out negotiation period followed, after which both CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott were given new contracts. In between, multiple rumors and reports came out, serving as cannon fodder for the media. After the latest surrounding Micah Parsons trade rumors, it looks like their star wide receiver has had enough.
CeeDee Lamb Calls Out Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys
With Dallas once again uncertain about its future, Lamb took to X, the site formerly known as Twitter, to express his frustration with the Parsons trade rumors. Responding directly to the rumors, he made it clear that the Cowboys having a successful future meant Parsons remaining on the squad.
“Y’all aren’t tired of this? Every offseason, top of the charts… Let’s just win ball games and that’s with 11! SMH”

After the situation last season, no one can understand the effect of the Cowboys drama better than Lamb himself.
Since coming into the NFL, he certified himself as one of the best wide receivers in the league. In 2023, he had his best season yet, leading the league in receptions with 135 for a career-high 1,749 receiving yards.
Yet, it took almost the entirety of free agency before Jones extended Lamb to a deal worth $34 million annually, on average. Despite starting quarterback Dak Prescott missing a majority of the season, Lamb showed his effectiveness, still tallying 1,194 in just 15 games.
Earlier in the week, reports emerged about the Cowboys potentially moving on from star edge rusher Parsons. Joining the league a year after the wide receiver, Parsons has averaged over 13 sacks a season, developing into one of the most terrifying defenders in the league.
Yet, it still looks like Dallas is unsure about how he fits into their future. With Prescott as the highest-paid QB in league history and Lamb second among all wide receivers, it’s going to be hard to manage funds for the team.
However, removing Parsons from the equation feels foolish for a team whose defense crashed without his presence on the field. However, there is one additional fact to explore.
Earlier in the week, a clip of the star rusher went viral where he claimed that he would look to switch teams if the Cowboys weren’t able to win a Super Bowl by the time he reached 30 years of age. That would put the timeline right in line for the end of his current contract.
If Parsons was serious about his comments on his podcast, perhaps there might be some genius to the Cowboys’ pattern.
