‘Nothing Greater Than a Never-Ever!’ — Cowboys’ 3x Super Bowl Champion Hypes Up Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs in Their Quest for a 3-Peat

Patrick Mahomes is set to play in his fifth Super Bowl on Sunday, Jan. 9. He has the chance to cement the Kansas City Chiefs as arguably the best dynasty ever in the history of sport by winning three straight Super Bowls.

No team in the NFL‘s history has ever completed a three-peat of Super Bowl titles. Knowing the importance of the upcoming game, Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin hyped the Chiefs in the way he is known for.

Michael Irvin Hypes Up Patrick Mahomes’ Team in Stunning Fashion

In a recent segment on FS1’s “Speak,” Irvin motivated the Chiefs to make history on Sunday. He emphasized how great their achievement would be, as winning three straight Super Bowls in the NFL has been impossible so far.

Since the Cowboys legend won three Super Bowls in his career, he knows how to motivate the players ahead of the season’s biggest game.

“Guys, I know all week here in New Orleans, you [Chiefs] have dealt and felt the magnitude of this game,” Irvin said. “That’s because you are standing on the doorstep of a very special kind of history. This kind of history literally stands above all of history.

“Winning a Super Bowl in the National Football League is very good. Winning back-to-back Super Bowls in the National Football League, like I did, is very rare. Winning three Super Bowl championships in a row in the National Football League has simply been impossible.”

“I like to call these a ‘Never-ever,'” Irvin added. “You know why? Because ‘Never-ever’ is the history that stands above all of history, because it has never ever been done before, but today, we will make the impossible possible. … Bring home that three-Chiefs repeat! Chiefs Kingdom, bring it home. … Nothing greater than a ‘Never-ever!’ History that stands above all of history, and we will get it done.”

Kansas City has been under pressure to win this year’s Super Bowl since they hoisted the Lombardi Trophy last season after winning Super Bowl 58 overtime against the San Francisco 49ers. While celebrating the Super Bowl win last year, Mahomes himself expressed the desire to complete a three-peat; so far, his team has done everything possible to fulfill that dream.

When Mahomes started, the Chiefs lost only one game this past season, coming against the Buffalo Bills. They avenged that loss in the AFC Championship Game by winning 32-29, and Josh Allen is now 0-4 against the Chiefs in the postseason.

Mahomes and Co. started their run of successive Super Bowl wins with the 38-35 result against the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago. Jalen Hurts played the best game of his life on that day, but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for his team.

The Eagles, led by Saquon Barkley, arguably have a better roster than the Chiefs and have had more dominant wins than the two-time defending champions. However, despite that, Mahomes’ team is being favored by the oddsmakers to win the Super Bowl, as they know the Chiefs are always ready to perform on the biggest stage.

Mahomes is chasing Tom Brady’s legacy, but if he can lead his team to three straight Super Bowls, many may already start considering him as the greatest football player ever. Brady won seven Super Bowls in his 23-season-long NFL career, but if the Chiefs star gets his fourth Super Bowl title in his first eight seasons in the league, there’s a high probability he could match the New England Patriots legend’s count.

In four Super Bowl appearances in his career, Mahomes has thrown for 1,071 yards, seven touchdowns, and five interceptions, completing 65.2% of his throws with a passer rating of 85.2.

So far, his stats in the Super Bowls don’t justify his greatness, which is why the Chiefs quarterback will be determined to have a perfect game from start to finish against the Eagles on Sunday.
