Which College Football Teams Remain Undefeated After Week 9?

Which college football teams remain undefeated after Week 9's action? Here are the six that remain, with a look ahead to next week's schedule

Unbelievably, all remaining six undefeated teams emerged from college football Week 9 unscathed. While some scraped in by the skin of their teeth, others continued to assert their utter dominance on the 2022 college football season.

Which teams survived another week of college football thrills and spills, how did they make it through, and who is their next obstacle in the quest to go through the entire college football season undefeated?

College Football Teams Undefeated After Week 9

The top four teams in our College Football Top 25 continued to prove that they’re the programs to beat, with the first official College Football Playoffs set to be announced this week. Could the SEC and the Big Ten lock out the lucrative final four? It’s certainly beginning to look that way.

In what was advertised as a clash of two potential first-round 2023 NFL Draft quarterbacks, Tennessee’s fairytale season was never troubled by Will Levis and the Kentucky Wildcats.

The Volunteers emerged from Week 9 with a 44-6 win and their unbeaten record intact. The game also once again showed why Hendon Hooker’s connection with Jalin Hyatt remains one of the most explosive in the nation.

Meanwhile, the reigning national champions continue what feels like an inevitable march towards the SEC Championship Game with a commanding 42-20 win over Florida in their annual rivalry game in Jacksonville.

After a couple of quiet weeks, Brock Bowers returned to his very best for the Bulldogs. Snagging 154 yards on just five receptions, the nation’s top tight end made a juggling touchdown reception that raises questions about a potential side hustle as an actual magician.

While the two SEC teams depart Week 9 with their undefeated records intact, that will all change in Week 10. Georgia welcomes Hooker and Tennessee to Athens with the destination of the SEC and the College Football Playoffs on the line.

The Bulldogs are on a five-game win streak against the Vols, but Tennessee did defeat Georgia in Athens in 2016. This will be must-watch entertainment next Saturday afternoon.

While Ohio State had their hands full with a punchy Penn State team, a monster performance from defensive end J.T. Tuimoloau ensured they remain undefeated through Week 9 of the college football season. The former five-star recruit was utterly dominant with three tackles for loss, two sacks, two interceptions, and a touchdown in the 44-31 win.

With Ohio State facing a hapless Northwestern team and Rutgers hosting the 8-0 Michigan Wolverines in Week 10, it seems increasingly likely that both heated rivals will enter “The Game” in Week 13 with their undefeated records intact. Michigan easily despatched Michigan State in Week 9, and although they still have Illinois on their schedule, both teams should be 11-0 on Nov. 26.

Max Duggan posted another 300+ passing yard performance and threw for three touchdowns, including a game-killing score to Savion Williams with 0:20 left on the clock, as Sonny Dykes’ TCU team remained undefeated with a 41-31 win over West Virginia. The Horned Frogs have a chance to extend their run next week against a Texas Tech team they’ve beaten in their last three clashes.

Can any team match 2019 LSU, 2018 Clemson, or 2013 Florida State and win a title without a single loss in the entire season? These are the contenders following all of the college football action in Week 8.
