While it’s sad that the college football season creeps towards the end, the excitement continues ramping up. Our college football DFS picks continue to improve, and there are plenty of betting opportunities to pick some explosive lineups. Week 8 features a number of ranked games, and many of them should feature plenty of points.
Week 8 College Football DFS Picks

QB: John Rhys Plumlee, UCF ($11,500)
Here’s the thing — I know how to pick quarterbacks. The consistent strength of my college football DFS picks has been with the signal callers. Plumlee’s averaging 31.24 fantasy points per game for the Knights, and he faces an ECU defense that struggles against the pass.
The Pirates also struggle more with dual-threat quarterbacks. The last one they faced, USF’s Gerry Bohanon, scored 41.52 points. Plumlee’s more electric than Bohanon, and this game gives him a chance to put up some gaudy numbers.
Other quarterbacks to consider: Max Duggan, TCU ($10,800); Bryce Young, Alabama ($10,600); Adrian Martinez, Kansas State ($10,500); C.J. Stroud, Ohio State ($10,400); Blake Shapen, Baylor ($9,200).
RB1: Charles McClelland, Cincinnati ($8,500)
SMU hasn’t looked like the team we expected coming into the year, nor has Cincinnati in a way. The Bearcats’ offense looks drastically different without Desmond Ridder, but they’re still finding ways to be explosive.
Charles McClelland continues to prove that he’s the guy in the backfield and has an opportunity to repeat his success from last week against USF. SMU’s given up an average of 23.3 fantasy points per game against the last three top rushers they’ve faced.
RB2: Nicholas Singleton, Penn State ($6,200)
Minnesota’s reeling after two consecutive losses, and the performances by the top rushers they faced make this matchup appealing for Singleton. The last two running backs the Gophers faced accounted for an average of 24.5 fantasy points.
After a tough loss to the Michigan Wolverines, one where the Nittany Lions rushing attack failed to compete, Penn State’s looking to bounce back. Minnesota’s defense remains resilient, but they struggle when they face a talent like Singleton.
Other running backs to consider: Quinshon Judkins, Ole Miss ($9,400); Zach Evans, Ole Miss ($8,700); Dillon Johnson, Mississippi State ($6,100)
WR1: Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State ($9,500)
I’m not buying Iowa, hence the Egbuka pick. It feels like the Hawkeyes will try to take the hot hand away from Ohio State (CFN All-American Marvin Harrison Jr.), which opens things up for Egbuka and Julian Fleming.
C.J. Stroud and the Buckeyes’ offense continue shredding everyone in their way, but Iowa’s defense presents a tough challenge for them. Still, there shouldn’t be too much slowing down Ohio State’s passing attack, and Egbuka should benefit the most from this matchup.
WR2: Xavier Worthy, Texas ($8,300)
Oklahoma State remains one of the top teams in the Big 12, but they need an answer to slowing down opponents through the air. TCU’s Quentin Johnston, Texas Tech’s Jarend Bradley, and Baylor’s Monaray Baldwin shredded the Cowboys’ secondary to the tune of 82.8 fantasy points.
Xavier Worthy’s been cooking defensive backs like Gordon Ramsey on the field, and Oklahoma State better send help his way as much as possible. If the Pokes do that, they then must worry about someone else in the Longhorns’ offense that will torch them.
WR3: Myles Price, Texas Tech ($7,300)
Price, as of the time of publishing, remains questionable. However, he faces a West Virginia defense that is vulnerable through the air. The Red Raiders must figure out who will play quarterback (the injury bug’s made life difficult), but Price has proven that he can be a good college football DFS pick regardless of who’s throwing him the ball.
Other wide receivers to consider: Quentin Johnston, TCU ($9,000); Jake Bobo, UCLA ($8,000); Gavin Holmes, Baylor ($7,900); Javon Baker, UCF ($7,200); Ja’Tavion Sanders, Texas ($5,700).
Superflex: Quinn Ewers, Texas ($8,700)
Quinn Ewers clearly is the difference in Texas’ offense. Even with their struggles against Iowa State last week, it’s clear that the Longhorns’ offense took a step in the right direction when he came back.
This matchup allows Texas to put themselves higher in the race for the Big 12 championship, and the Longhorns’ offense should find plenty of success through the air. Oklahoma State struggled against worse quarterbacks, and Ewers should see red on Saturday.
