Jerry Jones has been at the helm of the Dallas Cowboys for almost 35 years. In that time, he has seen several ups and downs with the franchise.
However, sports media personality Colin Cowherd has made his wishes clear for Jones. Cowherd made a shocking request to trade Micah Parsons.
Colin Cowherd Lays Down His Argument for Jerry Jones To Part With Micah Parsons
Parsons was the Cowboys’ first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The linebacker made an instant impact and secured the Defensive Rookie of the Year accolade. However, flash forward to 2024, with the Cowboys going 3-7 after their loss against the Houston Texans, Cowherd sees the need for a rebuild.
Parsons will play a pivotal role in this upcoming venture of the Cowboys, per Cowherd. On his podcast, he suggested that the 2025 NFL Draft class will be weak at quarterback but a strong one for edge rushers. “I would consider moving Micah Parsons,” said Cowherd. “Somebody’s going to give you a first-round pick and have to pay him.”

“But there’s a lot of teams in this league that are close, but they could use an elite edge rusher, and Micah when healthy, he is that,” he added. Cowherd also gave away a few names that Jones and the fans should be mindful of.
“Abdul Carter, the edge rusher from Penn State’s a top-10 pick. Williams from Georgia, top 10-12 pick,” suggested Cowherd.
This season, Parsons has registered a combined 17 tackles and three sacks in his six games.
Jones Outlines His Thoughts on Mike McCarthy’s Future With the Cowboys
Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy has been on the hot seat this entire season. As America’s Team extended their losing streak to five, several fans expected the 61-year-old to be sacked. However, Jones has a different mindset on the matter.
“I have made a change early on a coach with Chan Gailey (2000), and I’ve always regretted that,” Jones said to the press after the game. “I’ve made a change during the (2010) season [with Wade Phillips] and regretted that, and that’s the music I’m listening to.”
The Cowboys will be back in action in Week 12 against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium.
