Josh Allen led the Buffalo Bills to a 48-42 win over the Detroit Lions in Week 15. Buffalo snapped Detroit’s 11-game winning streak and made a huge statement to the rest of the league.
Once again, Allen was phenomenal, and many believe that his performance against the Lions sealed the MVP award. The Bills star was recently praised by Colin Cowherd, who labeled him “the most talented” quarterback.
Colin Cowherd Heaps Praise on Josh Allen
During a segment on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” the Fox Sports analyst talked about how Allen is different from other legendary quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady.
“Josh Allen is the most talented quarterback I’ve ever seen. I’ll die on that hill,” Cowherd said. “Don’t confuse trophies with talent; Brady’s got more trophies than Mahomes, and Patrick is more talented. I always thought John Elway was the greatest athlete. Compared to Josh Allen, John Elway looks small and lumbering. The kid is unbelievable.”
Cowherd further compared the Bills quarterback to the likes of LeBron James, Shohei Ohtani, and Tiger Woods, based on how he believe Allen is a notch above the best athletes in his sport.
Josh Allen is the most talented quarterback of all-time:

“Once Buffalo finally got a legit running back so [Allen] could take the Superman cape off occasionally, he didn’t have any kryptonite,” Cowherd said. “I mean, since entering the NFL, he has the second most rushing touchdowns. He’s a quarterback, he has the second most rushing touchdowns. Do you know who No. 1 is? A running back, Derrick Henry.”
Cowherd also said that we are lucky to be born at a time when we can see Allen play football. He added that as good as Brady was he wasn’t as talented as Mahomes. Similarly, Cowherd said that as good as the Chiefs’ quarterback’s talent is he is not the same as the Bills’ quarterback.
Mahomes and Aaron Rodgers are often regarded as the quarterbacks with the best arm talent in NFL history. However, Allen also has a pretty good arm and can make every throw possible. The Wyoming product’s running ability makes him unique as we have never seen a quarterback of his size be as good of a passer as a runner.
Allen is a two-time Pro Bowler and seems to be on pace to win his first MVP award this season. His main goal is still to lead the franchise to its first Super Bowl, and the Bills are playing as well as they have ever played to make it possible.
Bills Have a Real Shot at Securing the AFC’s Top Seed
With the win against the Lions, the Bills are now 11-3 on the season. They are currently second in the AFC and are chasing the Kansas City Chiefs (13-1) for the first seed in the conference.
With only three games left in the season, it seems unlikely they will overcome the two-game deficit. However, Mahomes suffered an ankle injury this past week and could possibly miss some games.

The Bills have the tiebreaker over Kansas City, as they defeated them earlier this season. The Chiefs still have to play the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Denver Broncos. If Mahomes does miss multiple games, the Bills have a real opportunity to finish as the top seed in the AFC.
Having a bye in the playoffs is always good. All eyes will be on Allen to see if he will be able to continue his good form and give his team a chance to finish with a better record than the Chiefs.
