Deion Sanders may be the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, but that doesn’t stop him from being outspoken on social media. Coach Prime speaks his mind on the field, in the media, and on his private social media accounts.
And on New Year’s Day, Sanders was vocal in support for former NFL safety Louis Riddick on X. Riddick played for several teams in his NFL career, including the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns, Oakland Raiders, and Seattle Seahawks.
Coach Prime Shows Support for Louis Riddick and Offers Advice to NFL Teams
When Coach Prime logged onto his X account on Wednesday, he did so with the goal of supporting the current ESPN analyst. Sanders believes Riddick does an excellent job at ESPN, but Coach Prime also endorsed him for an NFL front office job.
@NFL please understand what I’m saying 1st & foremost. @LRiddickESPN is a darn GM presently excelling at calling games and giving @espn brilliant content when he’s in studio. Don’t say I didn’t tell u. Just keeping it 💯 with u as usual. #CoachPrime

Riddick had previously spent time as an NFL scout before joining ESPN as an analyst. He has interviewed for front office jobs with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and Detroit Lions. In recent months, he’s received a lot of attention for front office jobs with several openings available.
Coach Prime coming out in support of Riddick now is interesting timing. With his season with the Buffaloes done, his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, can focus on the 2025 NFL Draft. Shedeur is viewed as one of the top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class alongside Miami’s Cam Ward. As a result, most mock drafts have him as a top-five pick and sometimes even going No. 1 overall.
There has been concern in some NFL circles that Coach Prime will not support his son going to some teams. So, if a team is worried about that but is still interested in drafting Shedeur Sanders, it could be a good idea to hire Louis Riddick. Deion Sanders is more likely to accept a team drafting his son if they have members of the front office that he supports.
It will be interesting to see where Riddick lands in the coming months. He has received a lot of attention from NFL teams. It seems like a foregone conclusion that he will be hired, the only question is where it will be.
