How Many Picks Do the Browns Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Currently, the Browns have nine picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. They maintain the rights to their original picks in the first four rounds, as well as their sixth-round pick.

In addition to the original picks they’ve kept, the Browns also acquired a third-round round pick in the Cooper trade, which also saw them send a sixth-rounder to Buffalo. The sixth-round pick originally was owned by the Lions, who sent it to Cleveland as part of a trade involving receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones.

The Browns also received a 2026 seventh-round pick in the Cooper trade.

The Vikings’ sixth-rounder was granted to the Browns in a trade for edge rusher Za’Darius Smith, but that same trade also sent the Browns’ original fifth-round pick to Minnesota. Meanwhile, Cleveland’s original seventh-rounder was traded to the Chargers for kicker Dustin Hopkins.

During the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline, the Browns acquired a 2025 fifth-round pick for Smith.

Should they remain in control of their first two picks, this would be the first cycle since 2021 in which the Browns had both their first- and second-round picks.

What Are the Browns’ Biggest Needs in 2025?

From a pure quality-of-play standpoint, the Deshaun Watson conversation is one worth having. But from a contract standpoint, it isn’t. The Browns sank an exorbitant amount of money and capital into the former Pro Bowler, and they’re stuck with him for the time being.

Offensive tackle is easily the top need on that list for the Browns. Back in March, 2020 first-round pick Jedrick Wills Jr. had his fifth-year option exercised, implying that an extension was near. But, he regressed mightily in 2023 before suffering a season-ending knee injury in early November, clouding his long-term outlook.

Even if the Browns part ways with Jack Conklin at right tackle, they have a potential successor for him in Dawand Jones. But for Wills, the contingency plan is less clear, and that’s something they may need to address in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Running back may be on the radar as well. Nick Chubb suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2023, and he’s entering the last year of his deal. Cleveland could look to re-invest in the position with a talented rookie like Ashton Jeanty, Quinshon Judkins, or Ollie Gordon II.

With Cooper out of the picture, Cleveland could target a receiver in the draft. Other positions that bear watching for the Browns include linebacker and cornerback.
