Cleveland Browns’ Cryptic Tweet May Have Just Revealed the Team’s 2025 NFL Draft Plans

The Cleveland Browns made their NFL Draft intentions crystal clear thanks to a social media post on X during the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Cleveland Browns have a long offseason ahead of them. With Deshaun Watson reinjuring his Achilles, they are without a clear starting quarterback heading into next season as currently constructed. However, with some key free agents available, they could find a veteran to add to the roster.

Or, they could use their second overall draft pick to potentially find their QB of the future. The team dropped its first hint courtesy of its social media account, giving a potential sneak peek into its plans as the 2025 NFL Draft draws ever closer.

Cleveland Browns Make Their Draft Day Plans Crystal Clear

The NFL Scouting Combine will assess offensive skill players — quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs — as a collective group on Feb. 28. The two quarterbacks seen as a cut above the rest in this year’s draft, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders, will be a part of those proceedings.

It looks like Cleveland may be leaning toward selecting one of them in the draft. A post on X by their official profile had a simple caption, “bright futures ahead.” Alongside the words were accompanying pictures of the two superstar QBs, the indication crystal clear.

But choosing one or the other isn’t a decision that the Browns can necessarily make. The Tennessee Titans sit above them with the first overall pick and they’re equally desperate to find a quarterback.

However, according to the latest 2025 NFL mock draft from PFSN, that choice could indeed come to the Browns’ doorstep. Marco Enriquez believes the Tennessee Titans, who pick No. 1 in the current NFL Draft order, will go after Abdul Carter instead, who scouts as a potentially generational talent as an edge rusher.

With the Browns having their selection, Enriquez gave his reasoning for Ward to head to the Heart of rock and roll: “Ward has a lot of experience as a fifth-year player entering the draft. This experience has benefitted young quarterbacks as recently as this past year with Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix.”

While he acknowledges Ward not being on the same tier as a Heisman Trophy winner like Daniels, he still believes in the Miami product. “Ward is two tiers below Daniels in my current prospect grading, but the potential is palpable,” Enriquez said.

“His mechanics are also sound — the real questions about him at the next level will be about his decision-making and accuracy.” But the pressure will be on the franchise for his success. “The Browns will need to surround him with high-IQ coaching and veterans, which they have not historically been capable of doing with their young signal callers.”

As for Sanders, Enriquez believes the New York Giants are getting their cornerstone in the son of Deion Sanders. Flirtation has been ongoing since the Colorado Buffaloes QB was seen wearing Giants cleats at his Alamo Bowl appearance.

Since then, rumors continue to swirl, and Enriquez believes it is soon going to be reality. “The Giants, in an attempt to separate themselves even further from Daniel Jones, select Shedeur Sanders, his exact opposite.”

Speaking on the man who shared the field with the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, he wrote, “Sanders is the most accurate passer in the class, and he has the mobility to extend plays.” And he believes New York can be specifically beneficial for him — “many question his arm strength, but having Malik Nabers lessens the concerns about his early-career success.”

The future might be coming soon for a lot of NFL teams, and the Browns aren’t shying away from it.
