Cincinnati Bengals Practice and Injury Report: Latest on Joe Mixon

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson returned to practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's session with a foot injury.

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson was back at practice today after missing Wednesday with a foot injury suffered early in Sunday’s 31-17 win at San Francisco.

Hendrickson was helped off the field after getting stepped on by a 49ers offensive lineman, but after a short stint in the blue medical tent, he was back on the field for the following series.

He not only finished the game but also recorded eight pressures in the process, including the game-sealing strip-sack of San Francisco quarterback Brock Purdy for the Cincinnati defense’s third turnover of the game.

Joe Mixon Returns But Who Was Missing From Bengals Thursday Practice?

The two other players who missed Wednesday’s practice, defensive tackle Josh Tupou (shoulder) and safety and special teams ace Tycen Anderson (knee), were not practicing again today during the portion open to the media.

Tupou has been doing rehab work on the side field along with rookie running back Chase Brown (hamstring) and rookie wide receiver/punt returner Charlie Jones, both of whom are on injured reserve.

But Anderson has not been present at practice either day.

The three players listed as limited on Wednesday’s injury report all were back to work today. Running back Joe Mixon (chest), linebacker/special teamer Akeem Davis-Gaither (knee), and left tackle Orlando Brown (groin).

Brown has been battling the groin injury for a few weeks, and it forced him out of the Week 6 win against Seattle, with Cody Ford replacing him and playing left tackle for the first time since high school. But Brown played the entire game at San Francisco and should be good to go Sunday night against Buffalo.

Mixon’s injury is more recent, but the fact that he was taking part in team stretch today was a positive sign.

Davis-Gaither has not played since the Week 3 Monday night win against the Rams. Wednesday marked his return to practice, so it’s unclear whether he will play Sunday night or miss a fifth consecutive game.
