There's an opportunity for the Cincinnati Bengals to get back at the Baltimore Ravens this season. And it may all start with the signing of Geno Stone.

New Cincinnati Bengals safety Geno Stone spent four seasons in the secondary with Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey. Once Stone signed with the Bengals, Humphrey jumped on his podcast to discuss his feelings.

Marlon Humphrey Peeved That S Geno Stone Signed With Cincinnati

After Stone signed a two-year, $14 million contract with Cincinnati earlier this month, Humphrey went on his Punch Line Podcast to explain why his friend signing with a division rival felt “weird” to him.

“I’m like, dang, this dude really went to the Bengals, like this is a weird thing,” Humphrey said. “Like, you know, you don’t really realize how the division really is until to, like, your homie, my guy, goes to the ops, like Geno’s called Me like, ‘Bro ate dinner with the boys last night Joe Burrow and all the guys.’ I’m like, ‘Oh nice.’ I’m like really happy for him, and then it’s every time I get happy, it’s like, bro, but you’re with the Bengals now.”

Stone had seven of his eight career interceptions in 2023 with 101 return yards and also had a career-high nine pass deflections. With a career-best 68 tackles, 2023 was by far the former 2020 seventh-round pick’s best season.

Stone wasn’t the only Ravens starter that signed with a division rival either, with linebacker Patrick Queen signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Some Early-Round DT Targets for the Bengals

Pro Football Network’s Jay Morrison detailed a number of defensive tackle targets that the Bengals could be interested in, in this year’s draft. There were eight different players that Morrison highlighted — Johnny Newton (Illinois), Byron Murphy II (Texas), Ruke Orhorhoro (Clemson), Michael Hall Jr. (Ohio State), Braden Fiske (Florida State), Leonard Taylor III (Miami), T’Vondre Sweat (Texas) and Kris Jenkins (Michigan).

Newton, who was the 2023 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, had a productive season with Illinois. He had 52 tackles (26 solo), 8.5 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks on the year.

Here’s what Morrison had to say about the All-American DT:

“There is plenty of debate about which defensive tackle is the best in this year’s class, but Cummings has Johnny Newton slotted just ahead of Texas’ Byron Murphy.

“The 6’2″, 304-pounder was a first-team All-American in 2023 for the second year in a row, and he had a school-record four blocked kicks to go along with his 7.5 sacks.”

Cincinnati Brass Attends LSU Pro Day

The Bengals have made selections from LSU work in the past. Quarterback Joe Burrow was the No. 1 overall selection of the 2020 NFL Draft and brought the team to the Super Bowl in the 2021 season.

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase was the fifth pick of the 2021 draft and has put together three straight years with over 1,000 yards receiving and 80+ catches.
