Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow walked into practice Thursday wearing a compression sleeve, and that’s about where the good news ends for the team and its fans.
Burrow was listed as a non-participant on the team’s official injury report.
Will Joe Burrow Play Against the Rams on Monday Night?
Burrow’s right calf, which he tweaked in Sunday’s loss to the Ravens, is still sore, and despite a Wednesday report from NFL Network, there is no indication he will be ready to play Monday night against the Los Angeles Rams.
“Just taking it day to day right now,” Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said about a half hour before the team practiced. “Soreness is an issue right now. So giving him some time is best. That’s all I’ll say about today.”

Burrow threw some short passes before team stretches, but once the team separated into position groups, it was Jake Browning and Will Grier doing all of the throwing during the portion open to the media.
The injury report will be out sometime after 4 p.m., and the only question is whether Burrow will be listed as limited or a non-participant.

Taylor said it would “be ideal” to have Burrow practice at some point if he’s going to play Monday night.
In non-Burrow injury news, all 53 players on the active roster were present at practice. Taylor said he’s optimistic defensive end Joseph Ossai (ankle) will be able to make his season debut on Monday night.
Taylor also said safety Nick Scott is progressing positively from the concussion he suffered Sunday against the Ravens, but the next 48 hours will determine whether he’s good to go against his former team.
UPDATE: Ossai was listed as a full participant for the first time since injuring his ankle Aug. 26, while Scott was listed as limited.
