Cincinnati Bengals Injury Report: Will Wide Receiver Tee Higgins Play?

It will be an all-or-nothing decision for the Cincinnati Bengals when it comes to Tee Higgins' usage Sunday in Arizona.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins returned to practice today after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday, and head coach Zac Taylor said he is not ruling out the possibility that Higgins could play Sunday at Arizona.

Higgins fractured a rib in the first half of the 27-3 loss at Tennessee on Sunday. He said Monday this injury would not be a multiple-week issue, and he was optimistic he would be able to play against the Cardinals.

Wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said Thursday that Higgins has had conversations with him about what he should do.

Latest Bengals News on Tee Higgins

Higgins was running routes on air with the other receivers and tight ends during Friday’s portion of practice open to the media. The team listed Higgins as a limited participant and have his game status as “Questionable” for Sunday’s must-win game against the Cardinals.

“He did some stuff today, ran some routes,” Taylor said. “We’ll sleep on it tonight, and we’ll talk tomorrow.”

Asked if it was just a pain tolerance issue or if there were range-of-motion concerns, Taylor said, “There’s a lot that will play into it. And so we’ve got to balance all that information and make the right decision for Tee.”

Taylor said there is no scenario where Higgins could be active with just a limited package being part of the plan. If he plays, he’ll be part of the entire game plan.

Also up in the air is the status of cornerback Chidobe Awuzie, who showed up as a surprise “limited” on Thursday’s practice report with a back injury.

Taylor said Awuzie felt some back discomfort after making a move in Thursday’s practice. Awuzie did not participate today and is listed as “questionable.”

Defensive end Trey Hendrickson showed up with a back injury that kept him out of practice today. He’s listed as questionable as well.

Things are more positive for starting cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt, who left Sunday’s game at Tennessee with a concussion and missed Wednesday’s practice. Taylor-Britt was limited Thursday and a full participant today.

“I feel good about Cam,” Taylor said.

Linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither will miss his second consecutive game with a knee injury.
