Cincinnati Bengals Injury and Practice Report: Surprise Additions Are Good To Go

    Published on

Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said the two new additions to the injury report, Tyler Boyd and DJ Turner II, should be good to go Sunday.

The Cincinnati Bengals received a double dose of the dreaded surprise Thursday limited status on the injury report with wide receiver Tyler Boyd and cornerback DJ Turner II, but it doesn’t appear it will be an issue for either player, head coach Zac Taylor said Friday after practice.

“I feel good,” Taylor said when asked about Tyler Boyd, who has an ankle injury. “We just limited him during the week.”

“Same with DJ Turner and DJ Reader,” Taylor added.

Turner showed up with a hamstring injury on Thursday’s report. His availability is key because the Bengals already are without starter Cam Taylor-Britt for at least another three games after he suffered a quad injury in the Week 11 game at Baltimore, landing him on injured reserve.

And Chidobe Awuzie, who is back in a starting role due to Taylor-Britt’s absence, had a moment late in the win at Jacksonville where he looked as though he had injured himself, although he has not been on the report all week.

As for Reader, he missed Friday’s practice due to a back injury.

Boyd was listed as limited again today, but Taylor that said it was because he missed a rep or two. Turner was listed as a full participant.

Rookie running back Chase Brown, who had a breakout game Monday night with nine carries for 61, including a 31-yarder that is the team’s longest of the season, was limited with a hamstring injury on Wednesday, but he went full Thursday and Friday.

Right tackle Jonah Williams had been listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday with a back injury, but he was a full participant Friday and does not have a game status.

There are three players listed as questionable: Reader, Boyd, and backup offensive lineman D’Ante Smith, who missed the last two days for personal reasons.

For the Indianapolis Colts, running back Jonathan Taylor has been ruled out.
