The Cincinnati Bengals will be without one of their top run defenders tonight against the league’s top rushing team in the Baltimore Ravens.
Defensive end Sam Hubbard was ruled out Wednesday, meaning he will miss his second consecutive game with an ankle injury.
The Bengals offset Hubbard’s absence last week with a rotation of Cam Sample, Joseph Ossai, and rookie first-round pick Myles Murphy, and that should be the case again tonight as Cincinnati (5-4) looks to stay within reach of AFC North-leading Baltimore (7-3).
Offensively, the Bengals will be thin at wide receiver with Tee Higgins out for a second consecutive game with a hamstring injury, and rookie Andrei Iosivas down with a knee injury suffered Sunday in the 30-27 loss to the Texans.
Expect Trenton Irwin to get the start for Higgins as he did Sunday, when he caught a three-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive of the game.
The Ravens will be without starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley, which makes Trey Hendrickson’s ability to quickly return from Sunday’s knee injury even bigger. Baltimore cornerback Marlon Humphrey also is out.
Kick returner Devin Duvernay and linebacker Kyle Van Noy were listed as questionable but are active for the Ravens.
