Oft-injured Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson went out in the first half of the team’s Week 18 contest vs. the Chicago Bears. What’s the latest on the Packers receiver?
What Happened to Christian Watson?
Watson went down with a non-contact knee injury in the second quarter running a route.

While non-contact knee injuries are always a frightening scenario, he was at least able to walk off the field into the medical tent. However, he was later carted off into the locker room for further evaluation.
Watson entered the game questionable with a knee injury, though it’s not immediately clear if this was a re-aggravation of the same pre-existing injury. The third-year receiver sat out last week’s game vs. the Minnesota Vikings and missed two practices this week before being declared questionable for the game.
The Packers formally ruled Watson out of the game at the start of the second half. With Green Bay set to hit the road for Wild Card weekend, Watson’s status to play is likely dubious at best.
Watson had no catches on one target prior to departing.
Potential Fantasy Fallout From Watson’s Injury
Analysis via PFN’s Kyle Soppe
Watson has been on the field for just 47% of Green Bay’s offensive snaps since he was drafted, as staying on the field has been a significant issue.
When on the field and given the opportunity, he’s been an asset. For his career, he’s produced 17.7% over PPR expectations with his average touchdown checking in just over 21.3 yards.
Should he miss time, the target distribution tightens in Green Bay, putting Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs (not to mention Tucker Kraft) much more on the radar should you believe the Packers can make a run (provided that Jordan Love is healthy).
