Christian Watson Injury Update: Latest on Packers WR After Exiting Game vs. Saints in Week 17

    Published on

The oft-injured Christian Watson went down in the first half of Monday Night Football. What is the latest on the Packers WR's status?

The Green Bay Packers are completely dominating the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, doing whatever they want on offense. Unfortunately, Christian Watson suffered an injury. What is the latest on the WR’s status?

    What Happened to Christian Watson?

In the second quarter of what is shaping up to be a blowout Packers victory over the Saints, Christian Watson took an end around and fell awkwardly on the sideline. He was slow to get up, eventually leaving the field on his own power. Watson went to the medical tent where he was being evaluated for a leg injury.

Watson did not catch a pass yet at the time of his exit but did take two carries for 23 yards.

Potential Fantasy Fallout From Watson’s Injury

Watson is not exactly fantasy football-relevant. He entered Week 16 with 29 catches for 620 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

With the Packers constantly rotating their four main wide receivers, it’s difficult to predict who will pop on any given week. Against the Saints, they seemed to be making a concerted effort to get everyone involved simply because they could.

If Watson is unable to return, that will likely lead to more playing time for Dontayvion Wicks, who scored the first touchdown of the game on a short throw from Jordan Love.
