The Green Bay Packers are currently the No. 7 seed and right in the thick of things in the NFC. However, the team had a tough loss on Monday Night Football to the New York Giants, 24-22.
Not only was that a tough loss, but the Packers are having to deal with a ton of injuries. Running backs AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones are both questionable for this game, and the wide receiver group is also having to deal with injuries.
Let’s take a look at Packers receivers Christian Watson, Dontayvion Wicks, and Jayden Reed. What are their injury statuses moving toward Week 15, and what impact will they have in fantasy football?
Latest News and Injury Updates Impacting Fantasy
Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
The good news is that Watson said this hamstring issue isn’t as bad as the one that caused him to miss three weeks. The fact he suffered this injury almost two weeks ago could lead you to believe that he might be able to play this week.
In that game against the Kansas City Chiefs, Watson was going to fall after getting a first down that clinched the win. However, he came up gimpy on it and hurt that hamstring.
It’s the fifth time in the last three years that Watson has hurt his hamstring. That’s a big cause for concern, as hamstring injuries tend to have some of the highest odds of all injuries to continue lingering.
While the Packers want Watson back, you can imagine they’re going to be very cautious in doing so. Green Bay is down many of its best playmakers, but that’s not going to make the team get desperate and bring him back if he isn’t healthy. The next 24-48 hours will be huge for Watson, especially if he can go in Friday’s walkthrough.
Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers
Wicks is just another example of the WR room being beat up right now.
During the fourth quarter of the game against the New York Giants, Wicks had to leave the game with an ankle injury.

After the game, Wicks told Lauren Helmbrecht WFRV 5 local sports that his ankle was messed up.
Spoke to Tay Wicks in the locker room. He said his ankle is “f***ed up” and that they think it’s a high ankle injury. #Packers https://t.co/gVVvDlMp8Q

The fact he was that adamant about the injury isn’t a good sign. Neither is the fact that he didn’t participate in Wednesday’s practice.
This feels like it could be an injury that possibly holds Wicks out for a week or two. But when healthy, Wicks has the feel of a player who could be the surprising reason why a fantasy team gets a big win. That big risk, high-reward type of guy that could pay off big for fantasy managers.
Like Watson, Watts is another guy to keep an eye on in the next 24 hours or so, as the Packers could use him with so many guys injured.
Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers
Reed is another Packers receiver who is having to battle with injuries, and he’s the most serious. During the game against the Giants, Reed had to be evaluated for a concussion after being stopped short on the two-point conversion late in the game.
Reed had a big fantasy game against the Giants, finishing the game with eight catches for 27 yards and four carries for 38 yards and a touchdown. With the team dealing with so many injuries on the offensive side of the ball, his speed and big-play ability had the Packers using him in many different ways.
Concussions are something that teams take very seriously now, and Green Bay is going to be very cautious with him moving forward. If you have Romeo Doubs on your team, you may want to use him. He could be in store for a big game with so many of the Packers players being injured.
