Undoubtedly, Aaron Rodgers, a four-time MVP, is one of the better players in this generation, but his performance this season has disappointed the franchise and its fans.
In the last nine games, the Jets have only secured three wins and seven losses, the last being against the Arizona Cardinals, where Rodgers went 22-for-35 for 151 passing yards and no touchdowns, contributing to their 31-6 loss on Sunday.
Chris Broussard Calls Out Aaron Rodgers for His Regression
Given the situation the Jets find themselves in, 3-7 and a long shot at the playoffs, many have something to say about New York’s now and its future. Chris Broussard chimed in, conversing about the current stage of Rodgers’ career on Fox’s “First Things First.”
“Yeah, they’re obviously done … so here’s what I’ll say: He should retire after this year. There’s no shame in being washed at 40-41 years old. We’ve seen, obviously, guys play well at that age. But if he retires after this season, he’ll be like ‘He lost it.’ You know, last year in Green Bay, first year, the year he played with the Jets. He still was an all-time great quarterback.”
However, Broussard drew concern about what a return in 2025 could do to Rodgers’ legacy.
“He comes back next year and puts more of this on tape for people to watch — now, again, he’ll still be a Hall of Famer and great, but it’ll start working against his legacy a little bit. … If he wants to, here’s what I do if I’m the Jets: I’m trying to encourage him during the season to retire if I’m behind the scenes. If he doesn’t retire, wants to come back, if I have to keep him … let him go.”

Rodgers Backs Mike McCarthy Amid Criticism From Micah Parsons
Dallas Cowboys LB Micah Parsons recently caught everybody’s attention over his comments on head coach Mike McCarthy’s commitment to the team.
When asked about the team locker room’s mindset about McCarthy’s potential exit as the Cowboys head coach, he brushed it off by saying he can go wherever he wants and that he cares more about his teammates and puts a lot more time and effort into the team.

During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers expressed his support for McCarthy and said: “I love Mike. Thirteen incredible years together, so I ain’t got much to say besides that, man. Mike’s my boy. I love Mike. And, you know, sometimes some people say things … if anybody can handle that down there, it’s Big Mike. Big Mike is built for adversity.”
The Jets will face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. ET.
