Taylor Swift watched hopelessly as the Kansas City Chiefs’ dream of a three-peat crumbled in the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Co. suffered a 40-22 loss in Super Bowl 59 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
The music icon’s presence was not received well by the crowd, and the Chiefs tight end wasn’t thrilled that Swift was being booed during the game.

Travis Kelce on Crowd Booing Taylor Swift During Super Bowl 59
The Chiefs failed to win their third straight Super Bowl courtesy of an underwhelming performance from both Mahomes and Kelce.
Multiple celebrities were in the stands to witness the mega event, including President Donald Trump, soccer star Lionel Messi, and Swift.
Before the game began, Swift was in the stands, taking in the sights and sounds of the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. However, the crowd wasn’t having any of it. As the broadcast cut to her, a torrential shower of boos rained down on the global pop star.
The usually cheerful Swift was shell-shocked by the reaction and could be seen mouthing, “What’s going on?”

“Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed and he felt helpless. Seeing the look on her face got to him,” the insider said. “He always protects her, and it broke his heart.”

It was the Chiefs’ first loss this season with the 14-time Grammy winner in attendance cheering them on. Kansas City was 9-0 heading into Super Bowl 59 when Swift was in the stadium until Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts ended that streak.
Kelce became the highest-paid tight end in the NFL after signing a two-year contract worth $34.25 million last offseason. However, the three-time Super Bowl champion had his lowest regular-season yardage total since 2014, finishing with 97 receptions for 823 yards.
Yet, Kelce proved his worth in the Divisional Round clash against the Houston Texans, posting a season-high 117 yards and a touchdown, including a 49-yard catch-and-run.
However, the 35-year-old couldn’t live up to the expectations in arguably the biggest game of his career. Kelce charted only four catches for 39 yards in New Orleans. The Eagles managed to hold him to zero catches in the first half.
There have been speculations about Kelce’s retirement, and the rumors will just pick up pace after the painful loss. Kelce is under contract with the Chiefs for next season and would hit free agency in 2026. It remains to be seen whether the superstar will continue to play or will hang up the cleats.
