The Kansas City Chiefs failed to three-peat, falling to the Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl 59. The team went 15-2 in the regular season but the offense lacked the explosiveness it’s been known for since Patrick Mahomes became the full-time starter.
The quarterback had his worst statistical season as a professional, and the Chiefs should look to get him more help this offseason. PFSN’s Free Agency Predictor has them doing that, adding a 12-year veteran receiver who has hauled in 66 touchdowns in his career.

Chiefs Could Add Keenan Allen to Patrick Mahomes’ Arsenal
For the first time as a starter, Mahomes failed to throw for over 4,000 yards last year, finishing the regular season with 3,928. He had 26 touchdowns (tied for the fewest in his starting career), 11 interceptions, and 36 sacks (the most in his career) in 2024, and the offense took all season to get in sync.
The Chiefs drafted Xavier Worthy in the first round and expected him to form a dangerous combination with second-year receiver Rashee Rice. However, Rice tore his LCL in Week 4, and Worthy needed time to develop a connection with Mahomes. Stalwart tight end Travis Kelce lost a step posting career lows in receiving yards (823) and touchdowns (3), and running back Isiah Pacheco missed 10 games with a fractured fibula.
The limited offense forced Kansas City to master the art of the one-score win, going 12-0 in those games, including the playoffs. That’s a miraculous effort, but the Chiefs hope to avoid duplicating that feat in 2025 by adding much-needed offensive help.
They have two glaring offensive line holes that need to be addressed: left tackle and right guard if Trey Smith leaves. However, they may look to fill those needs through the draft and focus elsewhere in free agency. That still leaves a few options, but the most intriguing is at wide receiver.
Longtime Charger, Keenan Allen is on the market and PFSN has him returning to the AFC West, landing with Kansas City. In Rice and Worthy, the Chiefs have two starting wide receivers. However, they could do with a reliable veteran option to complement them, especially if Kelce decides to retire. Of the free agent options available this offseason at wide receiver, Keenan Allen is the most intriguing fit for the Chiefs.
Allen has been one of the most consistent receiving options in the league throughout his 12-year career, hauling in 100+ receptions four times and seeing over 100 targets in all but three seasons. He’s dealt with multiple major injuries early in his career but has played in 10 or more games each of the last eight seasons.
He went to the Bears in 2024 totalling 70 receptions, 744 yards, and seven touchdowns in 15 games. Allen was the veteran presence Chicago’s young receiver room needed, and he could fit that need in Kansas City.
