Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Reveals Favorite Kendrick Lamar Album, Song Ahead of Super Bowl 59 Halftime Show

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes tells us his favorite Kendrick Lamar song ahead of his performance at Super Bowl 59.

During a media appearance ahead of Super Bowl 59, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was asked what his favorite Kendrick Lamar song was. This question comes before Lamar, who recently took home several Grammy awards, will be performing during the Super Bowl Halftime Show between the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.

Patrick Mahomes’ Favorite Kendrick Lamar Song

“..Favorite Kendrick Lamar song… I’ve been, uh, liking ‘dodger blue’ lately, so I’m just gonna go with that one, but the whole ‘GNX’ album, man, that thing, that thing’s legit,” Mahomes said.

Should he win his fourth Super Bowl on Sunday, the Chiefs will also be the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.

According to Kworb.net, “dodger blue,” which features Wallie the Sensei, Siete7x, and Roddy Rich, ranks 103rd in Lamar’s most-streamed songs with 83,303,871. It draws about 530,229 daily, and it seems Mahomes is at least one of those.

Lamar’s “GNX” record came out on Nov. 22, 2024, and has 12 tracks.

How Will Mahomes Fare in the Super Bowl?

While Mahomes may listen to “dodger blue” a few times during warmups to prepare for the big game, how will the two-time MVP do on the biggest stage?

As mentioned, he’s seeking his third straight Super Bowl (fourth total). He’s also won the Super Bowl MVP every year in which the Chiefs have won.

This season, Mahomes ranked 10th in our QB+ metric, posting a grade of 84.4. During the playoffs, he’s been slightly better at 84.8.

This season, Mahomes threw for 3,928 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in the regular season. He’s added two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and 422 passing yards this postseason.

Mahomes beat the Eagles in Super Bowl 57, but this time around, he’ll be facing a defense that was No. 1 in the NFL in passing yards allowed per game, allowing a mere 174.2 per game.

Mahomes may also face a bunch of pressure. The Eagles are deep along the defensive line with talents like Nolan Smith, Josh Sweat, Moro Ojomo, Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, and potentially even Brandon Graham back in the lineup.

That said, I think we’ll see a higher-scoring game in this one. Mahomes will reach around 250 passing yards but have just one touchdown pass in a losing effort to the Eagles.
