Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes is looking to make NFL history against the Buffalo Bills by not only going to their third Super Bowl in a row but winning their third Super Bowl in a row, which has never been done.
His father, Pat Mahomes Sr., was seen on the field with his son giving him some words of encouragement before kickoff.

From the looks of this picture, his son is feeling this energy too. Rarely do you see Mahomes Sr. with his son at the game. Most of the time you’ll see the Chiefs QB with his wife Brittany and their children, but this time it’s he and his dad pregame.
Who Is Patrick Mahomes’ Dad?
Mahomes Sr. grew up in Texas where he met and married the Chiefs QB’s mother, Randi. They were married in the ’90s but divorced in the early 2000s.
The elder Mahomes was an all-state athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. Out of the three, he chose baseball and pitched from 1992 to 2003, playing for the Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
These days, he is the host of “The Big Mahomes Show,” a weekly podcast that “pulls the curtain back on professional sports with coverage of all things sports,” according to the podcast’s Instagram page.
Although he and Randi divorced, according to People magazine, they remain good friends, but being a baseball player and a married man didn’t mix well for the couple.
Surprisingly, Mahomes Sr. did not want his son to play football at first because he was a great baseball player like his father.
“He grew up in the clubhouse, he was always around the game, and he was always the best player on his baseball team,” he told the Los Angeles Times about his son. “He was an unbelievable shortstop, he always led his team in hitting, and he threw 97 mph on the mound, so I always thought he was gonna be a baseball player.”
“I just thought we were wasting time when he could have been working on the sports he would go to college for, baseball and basketball. Plus, I didn’t want him to get hurt,” he told the newspaper.
The younger Mahomes obviously made the right choice in playing football and is on his way to having a Hall of Fame career in the NFL; if he manages to win his third Super Bowl in a row, he could be arguably the best player in the game … maybe ever.
