Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker’s Suit Was Stolen After Embarrassing Super Bowl Loss to Eagles

Kansas City kicker Harrison Butker was left without his clothes after the Chiefs' embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl 59.

Very little, if anything, went right for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 59. Superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes put in one of the worst performances of his career as the Philadelphia Eagles humiliated the back-to-back champions. For Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, though, the embarrassing result wasn’t the end of the horror story.

Chiefs Humiliated in Super Bowl 59

This game had promised to be an enthralling game between the two best teams the NFL had to offer. On the field, though, things couldn’t have been more different.

The Chiefs’ defense sold out to stop “Offensive Player of the Year” Saquon Barkley and were successful in doing so. But that only led to Jalen Hurts getting the job done through the air after opening the scoring with a trademark “Tush Push.”

And while their defense was struggling to stop Hurts and company, KC’s offense drowned, too. Mahomes was continuously swallowed up by the Eagles’ pass rush, leading to two first-half interceptions, one of which went for a touchdown courtesy of birthday boy Cooper DeJean.

By the time Kendrick Lamar made his way onto the field for the Super Bowl Halftime Show, the Chiefs had already been humbled.

The Eagles turned a halftime lead of 24-0 into a 40-22 win and ran out worthy winners in New Orleans. For Kansas City, the absolute domination that they suffered on both sides of the ball leaves them with plenty of questions to answer this offseason.

    Harrison Butker Has Suit Stolen

After the loss, Kansas City players showered and changed before leaving, but their kicker was left without anything to wear.

Butker occupies a locker next to Mahomes, who wears a suit to games but changes into Chiefs gear afterward. It’s thought that a member of staff removed Butker’s suit once the game had started, believing it to be Mahomes’ pre-game attire.

Despite a Super Bowl appearance, it’s been a difficult year for Butker, who landed himself in hot water with a controversial speech at Benedictine College during the offseason. The kicker ended Super Bowl 59 with zero points after the Chiefs attempted two-point conversions after all three of their touchdowns and attempted no field goals.

A bad day all around for Butker, who’ll no doubt look to move on this game in a hurry.

One silver lining for Butker from the past 12 months, though, is the contract extension he signed back in August 2024. Butker signed a four-year, $25.6 million extension with Kansas City, which includes $17.75 million guaranteed, slightly more than what Justin Tucker received from the Baltimore Ravens.

This extension will keep Butker in a Chiefs uniform through the 2028 season. Rather than using an agent, he represented himself in the contract negotiations. The three-time Super Bowl champion is now the highest-paid kicker in the NFL, beating out Jake Elliott and Tucker.
