Chiefs HC Andy Reid Sends Tom Brady a Message on Fox Broadcasting Career Ahead of Super Bowl 59

Tom Brady and Andy Reid faced off on several occasions in the NFL. Now that Brady has ended his active participation in the league, both have huge respect for each other.

This year, Brady took on the dual roles of a broadcaster and a minority franchise owner. The seven-time Super Bowl winner faced criticisms on both fronts, but now the Kansas City Chiefs head coach has aired his opinion.

Andy Reid Sends His Message to Tom Brady on His Broadcaster Role

Brady has taken his booth job to awards season, with the former quarterback recently announcing his “LFG Awards.” Brady handed out his Coach of the Year accolade to Reid.

“Everyone loves to give the Coach of the Year Award to the newcomers, but I’m going with Andy Reid,” he said. “One of the greatest coaches of all time, this season was his very best. The Chiefs set a franchise record with 15 wins.”

“There’s an old saying in football: You can’t win until you keep from losing. That’s what the Chiefs did all year. They found ways to win close games. I’m fired up to watch Andy and Patrick [Mahomes] go for a three-peat next Sunday.”

The 66-year-old Reid did not waste much time in accepting his award and highlighted Brady’s contributions to the game, including his present work as a broadcaster for Fox.

“I appreciate you for all you did for the game and are doing for the game,” Reid said. “You’re doing a great job by the way. Keep rolling. I know how much time you spent on it and it’s working and it’s paying off for you.”

Brady will be in the booth as Reid marches the Chiefs to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb. 9.

Brady Reveals His Bias for Super Bowl 59

On Feb. 4, Brady appeared on the “Let’s Go” podcast and was asked about which team will he be rooting for in New Orleans. While Brady maintained his diplomatic stance, he did reveal one team that has a slight edge in his heart.

“Well, I’m broadcasting the game, so I don’t really have a rooting interest per se,” Brady said. “The only thing I root for in these situations are great games.”

“I will say if the Chiefs win, I will be very happy for them. I mean, what they’ve achieved is unmatched.”
