Brett Veach Has $5.3 Million in Hand To Spend for the Chiefs

The Chiefs shocked the footballing world as they grabbed Hopkins. The addition of the veteran helps their precarious injury situation and provides a mentor for the young wide receivers.

However, ESPN’s NFL reporter Field Yates on X (previously Twitter) outlined the back-to-back champions’ moves after the Hopkins trade. “With cap space tight after the DeAndre Hopkins trade, the Chiefs restructured the contract of OT Jawaan Taylor by converting salary into a signing bonus, creating $5.3M in 2024 room,” he posted.

Chiefs fans were in a frenzy and couldn’t help but applaud Veach. “Brett Veach at work again. He’s cooking up something. Will probably come next week, but the door is open for another move to take place. Maybe another receiver?” replied one fan.

“Boom! Veach isn’t done,” one fan added.

“Veach going to get a CB,” one fan tweeted.

“Veach been cooking all week, more fire,” one more fan added.

“Incoming move for another player before the deadline,” added a fan.

“Veach still in the kitchen,” another fan tweeted.

Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach and head coach Andy Reid spoke after the conclusion of practice on Saturday at the team’s training camp in St. Joseph.

“There’s been a lot of turnovers, especially by me,” confessed Mahomes. “So, I think it’s just showing the versatility of our team. It’s not just about me. It’s not just about the stats and the light show and stuff like that. It’s about playing team football.”

Veach’s newest acquisition, Hopkins, will take the field against the Las Vegas Raiders this Sunday. The division rivals will go head-to-head for the first time this season after challenges have already been made.
