Justin Jones has only gotten a taste of the Chicago Bears versus Green Bay Packers rivalry for one season, as the 2022 campaign was his first being involved on the Bears’ side.
But the defensive tackle entering Year 2 with Chicago more than likely won over his fanbase on Tuesday. In the process, he riled up the rival fans who cheer for the Pack.
Justin Jones Doesn’t Hold Back on Packers’ Fanbase
Speaking with the Chicago media following minicamp, Jones was originally asked how different it would be moving forward with the Packers moving away from Aaron Rodgers.
Jones, though, was not mincing words in calling out the longtime nemesis fanbase of the Bears — beginning first with the now Ex-Packer quarterback.
“I wish he played one more year with Green Bay, honestly,” Jones quipped first, implying he would have loved chasing after Rodgers one more time. “We went up there, and we played a pretty good game. But they got away from us in the end, obviously.”
Then came Jones’ verbal barrage directed toward the fans of the green and gold.
“Their fans are really s****y,” Jones said. “Yeah, I wanted to come back up there, I want to play them, and I want to beat them. And I wanted him [Rodgers] to be there so he can see it. But the fact that he’s gone? It’s cool because I guess it’s better for him to not be here.”

Jones wasn’t through with calling out the Green Bay fans and dove deeper into why he has a disdain for them.
“Just the way they’re freaking obnoxious, just yelling and all that other stuff about things that don’t even matter,” he said. “We’re not even running a play, you guys are talking about, ‘Boo, oh yeah.’ The game hasn’t even started yet. What are we even talking about here?”
He then questioned their level of intelligence regarding the game of football.
“Half of ’em don’t even know football. It’s so weird to me,” Jones said.
Jones Looking Forward to New Chapter of Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers
So now, for the first time since 2007, before Rodgers took complete reins of the starting quarterback position, Green Bay will have a different regular-season starter behind center with Jordan Love.
The 6’3″, 309-pound Jones will look to claim his first career win over the Packers when he’s on the field. While with the Los Angeles Chargers, Jones was inactive for the team’s 26-11 win on Nov. 11, 2019. In 2022, Rodgers and the Packers got the better end of Jones’ Bears in the regular-season sweep — winning 27-10 at Lambeau Field and then 28-19 in Chicago.

Jones went on to deliver eight total tackles, including five solo stops and two tackles behind the line of scrimmage in the first meeting. He had a quieter second game with two total tackles.
Even with Rodgers off to the New York Jets, Jones is ready for another crack at the Pack.
“But I’m just ready to go back out there and play, and I want to go out there, and I want to beat the hell out of ’em on their field,” Jones said. “And I want to hear it. I want to hear the boos. That’s what I look forward to.”
Jones will get the Packers right away as the Bears kick off the season in the Windy City on Sept. 10 with Green Bay in town. They’ll then end the season at Lambeau on Jan. 7, 2024.
