How Many Picks Do the Bears Have in the 2025 NFL Draft?
Currently, the Bears are scheduled to have nine draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. There is a caveat, as nine picks are listed above.
The Bears acquired a conditional pick from the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for quarterback Justin Fields. If Fields plays 51% of the Steelers’ offensive snaps in 2024, the Steelers must send a fourth-round pick to Chicago. If not, that pick reverts to a sixth-rounder.
Elsewhere, the Bears have an extra second-round pick granted to them by the Carolina Panthers, who supplied the pick when maneuvering to first overall for Bryce Young in the 2023 NFL Draft cycle.
Meanwhile, the Bears acquired an extra sixth-round pick from the Miami Dolphins in a trade that sent wide receiver Chase Claypool to the AFC East. During the 2024 NFL Trade Deadline, the Bears also acquired an additional seventh-round pick in exchange for running back Khalil Herbert.
What Are the Bears’ Biggest Needs in 2025?
The Bears’ roster is clearly coming together. Williams headlines a talented offensive cast with depth across the board. The receiving corps is one of the best. The offensive line is respectable. And the defense is growing to become one of the better units in football.
Still, there is more work to do before Chicago’s roster joins the ranks of the elite.
The interior offensive line, in particular, is a long-term question mark. Coleman Shelton is likely a stopgap at center. Nate Davis needs to rebound after an uninspiring debut season in the Windy City. And Teven Jenkins will soon be a free agent.
Wide receiver could also soon become a need again, as quickly as it stopped being one. Keenan Allen is still due to be a free agent after the 2024 season. Chicago will still have DJ Moore and Rome Odunze under wraps through at least 2028, but the WR3 spot may be in flux if Allen leaves.
On defense, defensive tackle could be an area to pursue additional help, if Gervon Dexter Sr. and Zacch Pickens fail to take the next step. And at the EDGE position, there’s still a void across from Montez Sweat.
