Chicago Bears 2025 7-Round Mock Draft: Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze Receive a New Complementary WR

In this 2025 NFL Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears' core gets stronger around Caleb Williams and Rome Odunze, and an elite EDGE talent arrives.

This 2025 NFL Mock Draft follows the surging Chicago Bears as they look to keep building around Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, and the rest of their foundation. Can the Bears use their excess capital in 2025 to their advantage?

Who Could the Chicago Bears Draft in the 2025 NFL Draft?

Note: The draft order for the 2025 NFL Mock Draft was derived from my record and playoff predictions for the 2024 NFL regular season.

1.21) Chicago Bears: James Pearce Jr., EDGE, Tennessee

Austin Booker’s 2.5-sack preseason debut generated some excitement, but odds are Chicago will still need another early-round investment at EDGE in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Opposite Montez Sweat, James Pearce Jr. would be a menacing addition. His speed-to-power, with his burst, can be devastating, and there’s untapped potential with his bend.

2.37) Chicago Bears: Donovan Jackson, OG, Ohio State

Whether Nate Davis underperforms or Teven Jenkins leaves in free agency, guard could be a need in 2025. The 6’4″, 320-pound Donovan Jackson can help right the ship with his lateral mobility, strength, power, and explosive upside in the run game.

3.85) Chicago Bears: Dane Key, WR, Kentucky

Dane Key can still reach a greater level as a separator, but he’s a well-sized catch-point controller who’d play well with Rome Odunze and DJ Moore in 2025.

    Rounds 4-7

    5.150) Quincy Riley, CB, Louisville
6.173) LaMiles Brooks, S, Georgia Tech
    6.182) Jager Burton, OL, Kentucky
    6.186) Graham Mertz, QB, Florida

Bears 2025 NFL Mock Draft Analysis

There’s a level of excitement surrounding the Bears that hasn’t been there for some time.

The roster is growing stronger. The defense could be a borderline-elite unit under Matt Eberflus, and on offense, Caleb Williams has a terrifying receiver trio in tow.

Chicago could make noise in the playoff race as early as this year, but it may take one more solid NFL Draft showing to bring them to the top of the contender pool. This Bears 2025 NFL Mock Draft follows that blueprint.

In Round 1, the Bears finally add a blue-chip EDGE talent across from Montez Sweat. It’s still unclear what kind of long-term dividends players like Gervon Dexter and Zacch Pickens will bring, but Sweat and James Pearce Jr. make up a devastating tandem off the edge.

On Day 2, the Bears pivot to the offensive side of the ball. Donovan Jackson can be a stalwart guard on the interior, and though he doesn’t have experience at center, Chicago could experiment with him there if they so pleased. At guard, in particular, his explosiveness and power would be assets.

In Round 3, Dane Key gives Chicago a quality ancillary threat at WR. He’s not nearly the separator that Keenan Allen is, but he’s a venerable catch-point threat, who could benefit from isolated 1-on-1 opportunities generated by the presences of Odunze and DJ Moore.

On Day 3, the Bears scored more value. Quincy Riley is a versatile, physical depth CB. LaMiles Brooks is a fluid deep defender with impressive potential at the free safety spot. Jager Burton is an athletic lineman with projected positional flexibility, and Graham Mertz is a quality QB3.
