Who plays on Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football?

The first game being played on Amazon Prime is between the Los Angeles Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs. With two of the game’s top quarterbacks facing off, we can expect some firewards this week. After both teams got wins in their first week of action, expectations are high for both franchises. With a tight battle expected in the AFC West this year, this game could have important repercussions on the rest of the season.

Last week, Patrick Mahomes traveled into Arizona and put on a show. He threw for 360 yards and five touchdowns. After an offseason that was full of speculation surrounding Mahomes and what this offense would look like without Tyreek Hill, the Chiefs QB quelled all the noise and continued to make his case for one of the greatest of all time.

“Everybody’s asked us the questions of what this offense, what this team’s going to look like,” Mahomes told reporters after the game. “We’ve always believed that we were going to go out there and put on a show, and I thought guys did that.”

Meanwhile, Justin Herbert showed no signs of slowing down after last year’s breakout season. He threw for 279 yards and three touchdowns against fellow AFC West rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders. Although the Chargers kept their game against the Raiders close, winning 24-19, Herbert was on point when he needed to be.

When asked about this Thursday Night Football matchup, Herbert spoke about how excited the young guys on his team were for the opportunity.

“I know that our guys are really excited for this one. To be able to play on primetime, Thursday Night Football, it’s something you always grow up dreaming about. It is a quick week, a short week, but we’re going to do everything we can to get prepared.”
