’12 Has Gone So Far They’re Not Going To Have a Choice’ – Chad Johnson Makes Bold Claim About NFL-Bound Travis Hunter’s Heisman Chances

The college football world is caught up in Heisman fever, with potential candidates making their case stronger with each passing week. After Week 12, as the rankings stand, Colorado’s two-way star and 2025 NFL Draft prospect Travis Hunter sits atop the rankings.

With a major win against Utah in Week 12, Hunter has improved his odds massively, and now he stands as the favorite at +100. Right after him is Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, who has put up big numbers as a +350 favorite.

Chad Johnson Reacts to Travis Hunter Heisman Talk

Reacting to this surge in Heisman rankings, former NFL star Chad Johnson spoke about his impressions of Hunter, watching him from the Colorado sidelines. Johnson took a visit to the university last week and witnessed the Coach Prime hype and, most importantly, Hunter taking down the opposition.

“12 is going to extend himself so far ahead in the Heisman race; they’re not going to have a choice but to bless him, they’re not going to have a choice,” Johnson said. (Timestamp- 16:48 onwards)

“They ain’t going to have no choice. We, we, we’ve seen stuff. We’ve seen stuff like this, but not to this extent. He’s doing something special that’s never been done before. You can’t take that away from him. No, no, you can’t take that away from him,” he added.

Deion Sanders Drops Verdict on Hunter’s Heisman Contention

The two-way star showcased his prowess once again in Week 12 against Utah. Hunter recorded 55 yards, made five catches, scored a rushing touchdown, and added an interception.

With 911 yards and 74 receptions, Hunter stands strong as the unanimous leader. While speaking at a press conference, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders shared his true feelings.

“It’s supposed to go to the best college football player,” Sanders said. “I think that’s been a wrap since what? Week 2? So we ain’t petitioning for anybody. We ain’t doing that. We got a wonderful display of cameras here, and I think we’re on national television every week. If they can’t see us, there’s a problem,” he added.

Hunter and the Buffaloes will next face the Kansas Jayhawks in Week 13 and Oklahoma State thereafter to wrap up the season. A Big 12 Championship Game is on the horizon if Colorado can win these two matchups.
