‘It’s Stressful for Me’ – Top NFL Draft Prospect Carson Beck Makes Bold Revelation About Not Watching Football

    Published on

Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck details struggles with watching live collegiate football games on television.

In an extremely shocking and candid response to an interview question, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Carson Beck explained that he doesn’t enjoy watching football. Though Beck later explained how he does watch large amounts of game film, it’s surprising to hear one of the top college prospects reveal that he doesn’t watch the sport he plays when he’s not preparing for and playing it.

The question was asked in the lead-up to the Bulldogs’ SEC Championship Game this weekend against the Texas Longhorns. Georgia enters the game 10-2, while the Longhorns are currently 11-1. On the season, Beck has thrown for 3,429 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

What Did Carson Beck Say About Not Watching Football?

In the previously mentioned video, Beck explained the stress that he suffers from watching opposing teams play live on television.

“I don’t really enjoy watching football, it’s not fun for me. I watch film, so like, I’ll explain for a second what I mean by that, like so, if I watch that game, like, I’m not just gonna be able to sit there and enjoy it. I’m gonna stress myself out the whole entire time watching the defense,” he detailed.

Beck later added that he does watch immense amounts of game film and will continue to do so. However, he cannot find enjoyment in naturally watching the game as it happens.

Will This Stark Announcement Impact Beck’s Draft Stock?

While there is no definitive way of knowing whether NFL teams believe this was a poor response or if it has negatively impacted Beck’s draft stock, individuals on social media are divided about whether this was the correct thing to say, given the question asked and it being his draft year.

The referenced tweet holds the caption “His draft stock 📉” while another pointed out in the comments that he was still watching film, despite not doing so live.

“Nah he’s saying he watches film. That’s all the matters,” the user highlighted.

As is evident, there is no unanimous perspective about the impact this comment will have on Beck’s NFL future. While definitely not something said too often around the collegiate and professional football ranks, Beck still does watch game film, whether live or not, and is committed to his craft as a quarterback.

Only time will tell the impact this interview may have had on his future in the NFL.
