Arizona Cardinals vs. Los Angeles Rams injury report

There is mixed news for both the Cardinals and Rams regarding the injury report this week. While there has only been one player ruled out, there is another doubtful, and seven players are questionable.

The Cardinals listed 14 players on their injury report at some point or another this week. Heading into the game Monday, only six remain, all of whom are questionable. Meanwhile, the Rams listed seven players on the injury report during the week. However, they have already ruled one player out, have another doubtful, and one more questionable.

    Cardinals injury report

    • RB James Conner (Ribs) – Questionable
    • RB Jonathan Ward (Knee) – Questionable
    • WR Rondale Moore (Ankle) – Questionable
    • OL Justin Pugh (Calf) – Questionable
    • DE Jordan Phillips (Knee) – Questionable
    • CB Marco Wilson (Shoulder) – Questionable
    • DE Zach Allen (Ankle)
    • OL Kelvin Beachum (Not injury-related [NIR] – Rest)
    • TE Zach Ertz (NIR – Rest)
    • CB Antonio Hamilton (Tooth)
    • OL Rodney Hudson (NIR – Rest)
    • RB Chase Edmonds (Ribs/Toe)
    • TE Demetrius Harris (Shoulder)
    • ILB Isaiah Simmons (NIR – Personal)

The Cardinals’ injury report vs. the Rams looks more worrying at first glance than it really is. Three of the 14 players were listed simply for rest, while Isaiah Simmons missed Friday due to a personal reason. Of the remaining 10, four were cleared on Saturday, leaving six as questionable.

There are some significant names listed as questionable. James Conner has been one of the most prolific backs in the league in finding the end zone. Meanwhile, Rondale Moore is a game-breaker, and Justin Pugh would be one of the starters on the offensive line if active. The potential loss of Conner is at least mitigated by Chase Edmonds being healthy, as is the remainder of the offensive line.

Defensively, Marco Wilson would be a huge loss, as he’s played 68.8% of the snaps at cornerback this season. Meanwhile, Jordan Phillips has missed the last three games of the season, but he had a sack in each of the last two games he played in (Week 14 and 15).

    Rams injury report

    • S Taylor Rapp (Concussion) – Out
    • RB Buddy Howell (Hamstring) – Doubtful
    • WR Van Jefferson (Shoulder) – Questionable
    • DL Aaron Donald (Rest)
    • OLB Leonard Floyd (Back)
    • QB Matthew Stafford (Toe)
    • CB Darious Williams (Shoulder)

The Rams will be delighted that the injuries to Leonard Floyd, Matthew Stafford, and Darious Williams were not more serious. All three are key parts of this roster and their absences would certainly be felt. The loss of starting safety Taylor Rapp is frustrating given he played 95.8% of the defensive snaps this season. No player on the Rams’ defense played more than Rapp this year. The question mark of Van Jefferson is not crucial, but it does potentially limit the explosiveness of the Rams’ offense.
