Police in Florida have issued an arrest warrant for Detroit Lions CB Cameron Sutton, whom they've been trying to locate for nearly two weeks.

Florida police have issued an arrest warrant for Detroit Lions cornerback Cameron Sutton, ESPN reported on Wednesday.

Editor’s note: The Lions released Sutton on Thursday, Feb. 21.

Authorities have been searching for Sutton since issuing the warrant on March 7.

Sutton is wanted for domestic battery by strangulation, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

Police responded to a call at a home in Lutz, Florida, on March 7 and found evidence of a domestic incident, including wounds on a woman’s body, officials told ESPN.

Suttons owns a house in Pinellas County, Florida. But authorities haven’t been able to locate the 29-year-old despite repeated attempts at contact, both in person and via phone calls.

“We became aware of the ongoing legal situation involving Cam Sutton this morning,” the Lions said in a statement. “We will continue to monitor the situation and will not have further comment at this time.”

Sutton joined the Lions in 2023, signing a three-year deal worth $33 million. He is scheduled to collect $10.5 million in 2024, $9 million of which is guaranteed.

A third-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, Sutton spent his first six NFL seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He started 17 regular-season games and three playoff games in his first campaign in Detroit.
