Miami Hurricanes quarterback Cam Ward has been one of the most electrifying players in the 2024 college football season. The Heisman Trophy finalist has fans buzzing about his potential future in the NFL—and possibly with the New York Giants. Ward expressed excitement about playing in New York alongside Giants star receiver Malik Nabers.
Cam Ward Knows a Thing or Two About Malik Nabers
Ward’s 2024 season at Miami has made him a sought-after commodity in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Hurricanes broke single-season passing records under his leadership, averaging 44.2 points per game. The team ranks 1st in the nation averaging 359.3 passing yards per game.
These stats are driven by Ward himself, who recorded 4,123 passing yards, 36 touchdowns, and just seven interceptions. He earned the ACC Player of the Year award and fifth place in national passer ratings (171.1).
Current Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers praised Ward earlier in the week, calling him amazing. Ahead of the Heisman ceremony in New York, Ward was asked about the possibility of him pairing with Nabers next year.
“It’d be good. A player like that wins 50/50 balls, wins against man covers, he knows the soft spots in zones,” Ward said.” He’s only going to make me better if I get a chance to play with him. He’s a No.1 receiver for a reason.”

Replying to the rumor of the Giants’ interest in his services, Ward replied, “I just know if they get me, they’re gonna get everything I have. They’d be getting that dude. They’d be getting somebody who’s someone who doesn’t care about anything — just how he moves, how he operates on and off the field, is confident, somebody who’s going to challenge himself more than he challenges the team. At the end of the day, wins mean everything. You’re getting a winner.”
The Giants, enduring a nightmare 2-11 season, are expected to have a top pick in the upcoming draft. The 22-year-old describes himself as a confident, hard-working leader who prioritizes winning above all else. Ward has come a long way in his journey—from an unranked high school recruit to starting at Incarnate Word in the Southland Conference, he steadily climbed the ranks before transferring to Washington State and then Miami.
The 6-foot-2, 223-pound QB has the ideal physical for the NFL. His rocket arm, mobility, and improved accuracy are what the Giants are looking for in their next QB. The Giants are in dire need of a rebuild, and the pairing seems like a dream scenario for them.
Whether it’s breaking college records or revitalizing an NFL franchise, Ward has proven he’s ready to meet the moment.
