Calvin Ridley has already become a force for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but the offseason trade acquisition went down with an injury on Sunday. What happened to the veteran wide receiver in Week 3?
Calvin Ridley Injury Update
Ridley took a substantial hit from Houston Texans safety Jimmie Ward while trying to haul in a pass. Many of Ridley’s Jacksonville teammates took a knee while he was being attended to on the field.
Ridley was eventually able to leave the field under his own power.

Fortunately, Ridley was able to return to the field on Jacksonville’s next drive. We’ll have to wait until after today’s game to hear what sort of injury the 28-year-old pass catcher was dealing with.
Ridley, whom the Jaguars acquired from the Atlanta Falcons earlier this year, popped off for eight caches, 101 yards, and a touchdown in his Jacksonville debut. He cooled down in Week 2 against the Kansas City Chiefs, managing just two catches for 32 yards.
The Jaguars were already without wide receiver Zay Jones, who was inactive on Sunday due to a knee injury. Christian Kirk, Tim Jones, and Jamal Agnew are also available on Jacksonville’s WR depth chart.
Fantasy Fallout From Ridley’s Injury
From PFN Fantasy Analyst Kyle Soppe: Ridley would vacate the WR1 role in Jacksonville, and with Zay Jones banged up, Christian Kirk would see his stock spike. For his career, Kirk averages 14.6 half-PPR points when catching at least five balls, a role we could very much pencil him into should Ridley miss time.
We’ll have more in-depth fantasy analysis later tonight if Ridley suffers a setback in the second half and is taken out of the game.
