NFL Fans Blast Terry Bradshaw, Call for Him To Retire After His Super Bowl Performance

While the Philadelphia Eagles demolished the Kansas City Chiefs in one of the most lopsided Super Bowls in NFL history, one of the most trending topics had nothing to do with the game itself.

Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw made a puzzling comment about his parade celebration on the Super Bowl pregame broadcast that had his fellow broadcasters staring at him confused.

“Hey Bradshaw! You better win it next year you hillbilly or we’ll throw your a** outta here!” said Bradshaw.

While this doesn’t seem like too bad of a comment, the rest of his crew was very confused. It’s worth noting that Bradshaw said “sucka” in the midst of telling the story, which could have been misheard as an “f-bomb.”

Furthermore, other fans saw this and began to call for his retirement, including social media aggregator Dov Kleiman who said, “It might be time for Terry Bradshaw to retire.”

As previously mentioned, other fans also called for him to retire, with another adding, “Terry Bradshaw needs to retire. He’s shaking and asking crazy questions. Smh it’s time to give someone else an opportunity.”

Another fan even questioned if the comment he made was racially motivated as he used the term “Hey boy,” which has historically had racial implications.

While from the first listen it could be heard as something with ill intent, it’s clear that there’s nothing about what he said that had anything to do with race. He was simply talking about what fans would say to him as he celebrated winning a Super Bowl.

That said, another fan was upset with the trophy ceremony and didn’t hold back, saying, “I don’t ever want to see Terry Bradshaw on a stage giving a trophy again. Retire.”

With all of that being said, it’s clear that fans are ready for Bradshaw to move on from broadcasting. Fortunately for those fans, however, Bradshaw said that he only has a year or two left in broadcasting and could very well retire as soon as next season.

Bradshaw is turning 77 this year.
