Buffalo Bills Playoff Chances | Week 15 Update

AFC Scores in Week 15 Relevant to Playoff Race

    • Chiefs defeated Browns, 21-7
    • Bengals defeated Titans, 37-27
    • Texans defeated Dolphins, 20-12
    • Ravens defeated Giants, 35-14
    • Buccaneers defeated Chargers, 40-17
    • Eagles defeated Steelers, 27-13
    • Broncos defeated Colts, 31-13
    • Bills defeated Lions, 48-42

The Bills kept their hopes alive to earn the AFC’s top seed by knocking off the Lions in Detroit on Sunday. They remain two games behind the Chiefs but own the head-to-head tie-breaker with the Chiefs.

The PFN NFL Playoff Predictor currently gives Buffalo an 18% chance of earning that top seed in the conference, which is a 7 percentage point improvement from where they were at entering Week 15.

Can the Bills Clinch the AFC’s No. 1 Seed?

The Bills own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Kansas City Chiefs as the only team to take down the two-time defending champs this year through the first 14 weeks. However, that might not do Buffalo any good after a costly Week 14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

PFN’s Playoff Predictor gives the Bills an 18.7% chance of earning the top seed, compared to 78.3% for the Chiefs. The 11-3 Bills must finish two games better than the 13-1 Chiefs over the final month of the regular season. Most simply, a 3-0 Bills finish coupled with a 2-2 Chiefs finish would earn Buffalo the first seed.

The Bills will be enormous favorites in their final three games — they face the New England Patriots twice and host the New York Jets.
