Buffalo Bills’ James Cook Breaks Silence on Pro Bowl Snub

    Published on

Buffalo Bills running back James Cook spoke up on being snubbed from a Pro Bowl selection despite being the NFL touchdown leader.

James Cook isn’t the type of player to court attention to himself through his words. However, even he couldn’t stay silent after the NFL released its full Pro Bowl rosters.

On Thursday, the NFL shocked fans by snubbing the Buffalo Bills’ standout in their AFC selections. Cook did not take this indignation lying down.

James Cook Lets the NFL Know His Thoughts After the Pro Bowl Snub

The 25-year-old has carried the ball 197 times in 15 games for 981 yards and leads his peers with 15 rushing touchdowns — his 17 overall TDs lead the league. Combined with the fact that the Bills (13-3) have secured the No. 2 seed position in the AFC playoffs, Cook made a strong case for a Pro Bowl selection.

However, the NFL overlooked him to name the Baltimore RavensDerrick Henry, the Houston TexansJoe Mixon, and the Indianapolis ColtsJonathan Taylor as the starting running backs for the Pro Bowl game in Orlando, FL.

Last year, Cook was selected for the Pro Bowl games. Hence, he took to X (formerly Twitter) and replied to the NFL’s official account announcing the roster for this year. “It be wild your best still ain’t enough but hey,” he tweeted.

Cook and seven others from the Bills team have made the alternates for the AFC. He is joined by center Connor McGovern, safety Damar Hamlin, linebacker Terrel Bernard, fullback Reggie Gilliam, defensive tackle Ed Oliver, offensive tackle Spencer Brown, and tight end Dalton Kincaid.

Only two players from the Bills roster have received the honor of being named as the starters, quarterback Josh Allen and offensive tackle Dion Dawkins.

Cook Gets Support From the Cowboys’ RB

Cook’s snub went viral, with his reply gaining more likes than the NFL’s original post on X. It wasn’t long before he had his backup. And it came in the form of Dallas Cowboys RB and his elder brother, Dalvin Cook.

“Just keep doing what your doing and let the bag in a few weeks speak for itself,” the Cowboys man tweeted as a reply to his younger brother.

Elder brother’s motivating words could be a huge source of boost that the Bills’ playmaker would need in the coming weeks.
