Broncos vs. Packers Game Preview
While Week 1 for the Packers saw Jordan Love and the starters play on one drive, that won’t be the case this time, as they will sit and watch against the Broncos. In their one drive last week, the Packers’ starting offense scored on a long touchdown pass.
The Broncos, on the other hand, will send the starters out again, but this time with Nix at quarterback instead of Jarrett Stidham.
In his pro debut, Nix received most of his reps with the second team but still put together a quality performance. He finished having completed 15 of 21 passing attempts for 125 yards and one touchdown. Nix also led the team to multiple field goal drives.
Stidham, meanwhile, was 4-for -7 for 37 yards while throwing an interception.
Zach Wilson, the clear third quarterback, handled the end of the game and completed 10 of 13 passes for 117 yards.
Sean Clifford received a majority of the reps for the Packers last week and did just fine. He was 10-for-19 for 111 yards in Week 1. The team’s third-string quarterback, rookie Michael Pratt, was 5-for-7 for 46 yards. Neither threw a touchdown pass.
In terms of Green Bay skill players, running back Emmanuel Wilson is a name to watch for the Packers. In just 13 attempts, he had 67 yards and a touchdown on a 5.2-yard average. Wide receiver Grant Dubose is also worth watching, having caught five passes for 66 yards last week.
For the Broncos, the RB2 battle between Jaleel McLaughlin, Samaje Perine, and Audric Estimé will be key to keep an eye on. Additionally, receivers Blake Watson and Lucas Krull each had 30+ yards in Week 1 and could be worth paying attention to.
