Since being selected as Mr. Irrelevant in the 2022 NFL Draft, quarterback Brock Purdy has exceeded all expectations. After winning the San Francisco 49ers‘ starting job over Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance, he has emerged as one of the most consistent quarterbacks in the NFL and led the 49ers to Super Bowl LVIII, where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime.
Now that he’s in the limelight, there’s a lot more interest in his personal life, including many people wondering about his family and upbringing. Let’s get to know Purdy’s two siblings, Whittney and Chubba.
Meet Brock Purdy’s Sister, Whittney
Whittney is the oldest of the three siblings. She played softball at Spartanburg Methodist and transferred to Southeastern University in 2019, where she played for two seasons.
However, softball is not the only sport she excels at. During an interview with Sports360AZ, her younger brother, Chubba, admitted that Whittney is the best athlete in the family and can throw the ball just as well as their quarterback brother.
He recalled how the two siblings would compete against each other when they were kids.
“When we were younger, Brock and Whittney would be on the softball field because the lights were still on. They’d be throwing each other the [football], and Whittney would hit it over the fence. I don’t even know if Brock could hit it over the fence at that time, so it was just hilarious seeing that,” Chubba said.
“Whittney’s just so natural when it comes to that stuff, just being an all-around athlete, and then also just being able to chuck the football, like, when we were younger, she’s on the field, or at halftime at our flag games, and she’s ripping it down there, so it was awesome.”
Chubba also raved about how supportive Whittney has been over the years. She often flies out to her brothers’ games and is there for them whenever they need her.
Whittney is also close friends with Brock’s wife, Jenna Brandt, and even attended her bachelorette party, which Purdy’s sister described as “the best time.”
Meet Brock Purdy’s Brother, Chubba
Born in 2001, Chubba is also a football player like his older brother Brock. In his first two years as a starter, he threw for 9,000 yards and 111 touchdowns for Perry High School in Arizona.
After initially committing to Louisville, Chubba flipped his commitment to Florida State University on December 18, 2019.

After two years with the Seminoles, he transferred to Nebraska. While he suffered various injuries with the Cornhuskers, he earned praise from head coach Matt Rhule.
“Chubba did a really nice job,” Rhule said of the quarterback’s start against Wisconsin in Week 12 of the 2023 season.
Chubba decided to enter the transfer portal again in December 2023 and announced that he’d be going to San Jose State. However, he flipped his commitment to Nevada when the Wildcats hired Brent Brennan on January 22.

He’s currently on the Wolf Pack’s roster, but he’s currently backing up Brendon Lewis and AJ Bianco.
While Brock is the most well-known of the Purdy clan, it’s safe to say that athleticism runs in the family and the Purdys have pretty good genes.
