    Published on

Let's break down 49ers QB Brock Purdy's net worth, career earnings, 2024 salary, and the big payday that he's poised to receive next offseason.

San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy has been one of the NFL‘s pleasant surprises since he entered the league as Mr. Irrelevant of the 2022 NFL Draft. He’s made the most of every opportunity he’s received, becoming the first Mr. Irrelevant to start a playoff game as a rookie and leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl last year as a sophomore quarterback.

He earned the trust of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan and has exceeded all expectations. While he’s thriving on the field, how is his bank account doing? Let’s break down Purdy’s net worth, career earnings, 2024 salary, and the big payday that he’s poised to receive next offseason.

Brock Purdy’s 2024 Contract and Bonuses

While being Mr. Irrelevant typically comes with a lot of exposure and some marketing opportunities, the downside of being the final pick in the NFL Draft is that you’re paid significantly less than your NFL peers.

Purdy is still on his rookie contract, which is a four-year deal worth $3.7 million. He received a $77,000 signing bonus, and only $77,008 was guaranteed at signing. That means his average annual salary is $934,252. Purdy is earning significantly less than every other NFL starting quarterback despite playing at an extremely high level.

In comparison, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott recently signed a record-breaking $240 million deal featuring $231 million guaranteed. Jacksonville Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence ($275 million) and Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson ($230 million) are earning way more than Purdy, even though the 49ers QB has reached a conference title game and Super Bowl unlike the other three.

For the 2024 regular season, Purdy will earn a base salary of $985,000 while carrying a cap hit of $1,004,252 and a dead cap value of $38,504, making him one of the biggest bargains in the NFL.

MORE: Who Are the NFL’s Highest-Paid QBs?

Purdy is reportedly the 34th-highest-paid player on the 49ers’ roster and the 81st-highest-paid QB in the NFL in total value, per Spotrac. Purdy is earning less than backups such as New Orleans Saints QB Jake Haener, Detroit Lions QB Hendon Hooker, and Miami Dolphins QB Skylar Thompson.

This team-friendly deal allows the 49ers to move other money around and surround Purdy with talent. This year, Purdy counts for just .3% of the 49ers’ cap space for the 2024 season, according to Over The Cap.

While Purdy is making peanuts now, he is expected to become one of the highest-paid players in the NFL in 2025 when he’s eligible for a contract extension since the cap is expected to increase again by next offseason. If Purdy and the 49ers can’t work out a deal, he will hit free agency in 2026.

“It’s a good problem when your quarterback is one of the highest-paid guys on your team and in the league,” 49ers CEO Jed York said at the NFL’s Annual League Meetings earlier this year. “It’s what the market is. Brock is going to ask for something that no one has ever asked for before.”

Recently, Purdy was asked about his upcoming payday.

“We’ve got to focus on 2024,” Purdy said. “This season is so long, and there’s so much stuff that you go through. So to get caught up in what the years can look like down the road or anything like that, to me, that’s pretty nonsense.”

Mr. Irrelevant could become the NFL’s highest-paid QB when all is said and done.

    What Is Purdy’s Net Worth?

It’s hard to be certain about Purdy’s net worth, as there are a wide range of estimates online. Some outlets estimate his net worth is as high as $6 million while others have it drastically lower at $300,000.

Purdy has earned $2,885,346 from his NFL contracts alone. In 2025, Purdy is set to earn a base salary of $1,100,000 (more than a 50% raise from his previous seasons combined) while carrying a cap hit of $1,119,253 and a dead cap value of $19,253.

Since entering the league, Purdy has emerged as one of the league’s most consistent and productive quarterbacks.

He took the starting job away from both Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo, and he led the 49ers on deep playoff runs, including a trip to the Super Bowl last season.

It helps that he’s surrounded by a terrific supporting cast of Christian McCaffrey, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and Trent Williams, along with a dominant defense that includes Fred Warner, Nick Bosa, and Charvarius Ward. Another dominant season will put him in line for a huge payday in 2025.

    Purdy’s Endorsements and Business Ventures

While Purdy is underpaid in terms of his NFL contract, keep in mind that he is still making good money from endorsements. That’s one of the perks of being the starting quarterback for a big-market team like the Niners and playing in the Super Bowl at such a young age.

Purdy has done endorsement deals with Toyota, Alaska Airlines, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Ariat, among others. In fact, he is a national ambassador for Toyota alongside retired New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Purdy often appears in Toyota’s national campaigns and social media content.

Purdy has also been featured in an Alaska Airlines commercial and a Buffalo Wild Wings spot where he promotes their burgers.

The exact terms of Purdy’s various endorsement deals aren’t public, but it’s safe that he’s doing well for himself.

Beyond endorsements, Purdy has invested in the plant-based energy drink company Yerbaé, further diversifying his income sources.
