Las Vegas Raiders rookie tight end Brock Bowers continues to make headlines after a historic first season in the NFL. The 22-year-old phenom broke records and secured a spot as the AFC’s starting tight end for the 2025 Pro Bowl.
Bowers’ rookie campaign has been nothing short of a fairy tale. The No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft shattered records previously held by legends like Mike Ditka. With 108 receptions and 1,144 receiving yards heading into Week 18, Bowers now holds the title for most receptions and receiving yards by a rookie tight end.
Brock Bowers Gets Heartfelt Wish From Girlfriend Cameron Newell
Cameron Newell, Bowers’ girlfriend, joined the celebration, posting an Instagram story that read, “The MOST deserving… your 2025 Pro Bowl starting TE!! LETS GOOO 89,” alongside a black and white selfie with Bowers.
The former Georgia Bulldogs playmaker has been a rare bright spot for a Raiders team (4-12) that struggled to find consistency this season. Even with his record-breaking stats, Bowers remains humble. Speaking to Raiders.com, he admitted, “I still feel like I suck sometimes. Losing a rep here and there… just p***es me off.”
“I feel like in high school I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m good for my area but I don’t know how [good] I am going into college.’ And once I got to college I’m like, ‘I’m kind of doing well but I’m not winning every rep,” Bowers said.
Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce has been equally impressed by his young TE. He stated last month, “This guy is different. I just think the way he plays the game after he has the ball. He’s really like a running back. He’s a receiver when the ball’s in the air, but when he has the ball in his hands, he’s punishing people.”
Bowers is a front-runner for Offensive Rookie of the Year. The Pro Bowl selection is a big personal milestone for Bowers in a season full of achievements. The Raiders’ rookie posted these stats despite a chaotic season with three different quarterbacks and two offensive coordinators.
His adaptability and skill set have skyrocketed his reputation as one of the league’s brightest young stars. Fans can look forward to seeing Bowers in action at the Pro Bowl on Feb. 2 at Camping World Stadium in Orlando. Alongside teammate Maxx Crosby, he’ll represent the Raiders in the AFC-NFC clash and skills competitions.
